I love the comments about the 2ltr low power engine when a lot of members on here rate the 90bhp 2ltr pug lump. Just for my 2p's worth it made sense for BMW to build one engine and offer various power ...

Was the temp reading correct? Did it seem that hot when you lifted the bonnet?
Could be a faulty temp sensor.
