Hi, sorry to hear about the incident!..
Those are indeed coach bolts welded to the chassis, in order for them to never undo themselves.
Well, the nuts on those have probably also been "designed" ... |

My bet is that expansion tank cap wasn't screwed on tight.
When you switch a petrol engine off after a journey, water pump stops, there's no airflow through radiator either, so the hot engine block ... |

I've got one specimen like yours here, and coolant hose would also be loose if previous owner didn't put a cable tie round it:) Seems a common issue when it comes off a bracket:

Hi, how is the coolant situation in the expansion tank?
If all is well with cooling system, the oil around that area might suggest the oil feed to the turbo might leak, so only noted at higher RPMs ... |
