Check your top mount bolts are tight! Had this on mine. Changed bottom arms and it turned out to be loose bolts!!! Doh. |

Has the car been sat for a while before this happens? Try turning the key and giving it a second or two for the fuel pressure to build then turn the key all the way. If the engine is turning over at n ... |

Got it sorted, managed to get the offending bolt out and replace it with a washer fitted aswell and all is good now! |

The heat shield is fine, just the bolts are knackered and worn. |

Got a rattling heat shield on the manifold of my gti 180. Bolts are too corroded to tighten. Has anyone just removed the heat shield without any issues? |

Done this twice now in the past week. Comes up with engine immobiliser fault, it cranks over but won't start. The first time I left it for 10mins and it started fine. Did it again on my driveway tonig ... |
