I took it to a specialist Auto Electricians, they hooked it up to some Hella Gutmann diagnostics kit and said the BSI was faulty. I spoke to a possible repairer this morning and they also made noises ... |

Turned out is was the BSI. Garage quoted £300 + £100 to fit, but they decided I wouldnt want that, so they re-wired the lights so they no longer connect through the BSI. Job done.

Yes, but I suspect he was just the guy who does the bookings. Turned out the problem was the BSI box. Garage said new box is £300 plus £100 to fit, but they thought I wouldnt be keen on that, so the ... |

Thanks. I'll see what comes of it. Car doesn't seem to have any performance issues as yet, so hopefully the MAF sensor can stay as it is.
