Bumper fill from Halfords will fix that and last for a VERY long time. I have repaired crash damage motorbike fairings with it and never had a problem.

yes it's the CV boot - there are two on the O/S and it's the inner one - I assume I can take the hub off and do it from that end BUT it needs to over the outer one.

The O/S inner driveshaft gator has split on my GTi. Looking to swap myself - are there any specialist tools etc and what is the general procedure/ things to look out for please?

A wrap really isn't an alternative to paint. It's cheaper for a reason Wink

You can not do the jams etc without it looking awful, it is removalble at anytime upto 3 years on a decent product.... ther ...

Orbital sander and some paint is about the only way I have ever found to do it! It sticks like s**t to a shovel!!!

I heard there was a removal liquid but never tried it. Might be worth a look aroun ...

Matt colours just use a Matt laquer over the top instead of a gloss one - needs a decent sprayer to pull it off as you can't colour sand a nd polish later to remove any inconsitencies.

lower arm £50 - £60 plus fitting, track rod end £6 plus fitting....

It is worth checking all the bushed on the suspension too - lower arm or track rod end could do this - mine did it with a faulty lower arm bush.

Lie on the floor and give the right hand edge of the wheel an almighty boot with your size 10s! It's the only way to break the seal if tapping hasn't sorted it - never put copper grease before fitting ...

There is - you might need a torx socket to undo the nuts - depends if someone changed them and you might as well do the drop links while you are there Wink

I did them and I ain't got a clue with mech ...

Do a search - there is a reprogramming sequence to follow but it is specific to your car (age and model)
