The battery is only 3 months old, i changed that because the air bag light stayed on!
Hole in the exhaust is worth a check, and dont think I have the additive tank!
Its still getting my wife to work ...

That`s music to my ears!

I didn't think it sounded that bad and it didn't always do it.

I will monitor the situation from a distance and suggest that the wife turns up the radio.

I've just had a look at the paper work that came with the car, it had a clutch, release bearings and input shaft bearing 20,000 miles ago.

Evening all,
The wife's 206 2.0 hdi has developed a whining noise when you come off the throttle to slow down.
Depressing the clutch make the noise disappear.
Any comments appreciated.

Cut the wishbone with the grinder and the ball joint just fell apart.
Job all done now, moderate amount of bad language but it could have been worse.

Is it not the tension exerted by the bushes in the wish bone fighting the force of the coil spring which makes it difficult to remove.
By cutting the wish bone the ball joint would only be held by it ...

Having read the variations on a theme for splitting the bottom ball joint, how about this?

Remove pinch bolt and cut through the wishbone close to the ball joint with trusty g ...

Hi
We have a 206 2.0 hdi 02
It sometimes steers fine but occasioaly in takes a side step to the right.
I can't find any play in the ball joints.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Just fitted a new battery and everything seems to be fine again.
I never suspected the battery as there were no starting issues.

Just had my meter on the battery 12.4v static dropping to 9.8 while cranking. Could be....
