Sounds like ur thrust bearing isn't engaging and dis engaging properly |

Great news! It had a brand spanking new engine out of a crate put in it so I assume its for plenty of life left in it |

I would of thought that if u took a 180, get it supercharged and a big turbo whacked on it with all the correct internals like cams n pistons n port n polished/gas flowed, better bigger injectors, man ... |

sometimes the ecu can loose its map and i know my car is no longer a pug but i had the same problems on my mondeo v6 and it turned out to be the EGR Valve and pipes, i dont know if your car has them b ... |
