mine was making a noise like this intermittently and sometimes would work, then make that noise and stop working again. got it recharged, found out it only had 1% charge left in it. lucky got it check ...

i had the same problem a couple of years back. steering kept getting heavy intermittently and topping up the fluid it kept going down again quickly, ended up getting stuck in the works carpark for age ...
