had thesame noise andcome to the same conclusion...been told the bearings where next to impossible to change,even my local peugeot dealer sugested 2nd hand replacement. |

right then....took car to a tidy garage today and turns out the rattle is my axle bearings starting to give up......
cheap enough to have a second hand axle fitted but buying an axle proving a challe ... |

Yeah it does sound worse with the windows down,local garage had it on the ramps and can't find anything out of place.

right i,ve got a really bad tinny rattle coming from the rear of the car,fine on a smooth road but the slightest bump and it it sounds awful.

really stuck now!removed the heatshield,made sure the exhaust does not hit anything...and still a rattle when i drive over bumps...
could it be suspension?cars on 40 profile tyres but suspension seem ... |

cheers,that will probably be tomorrows job then.already removed the heat shield from by the backbox as it was rotten.thought that would solve the rattle.
would it be a good idea to leave the shield ... |
