I had one of these, and when it was idling it had a tappety noise and a bit of a rumble - it was the alternator clutch pulley. Worth looking at.

When I needed an alternator I got the CL part number from a sticker. You will probably need a long reach mirror and torch to see behind.

I had an RS Tuning remap on mine for nearly five years before all I sold it - same clutch, gearbox and turbo.

Definitely worth doing, you get about 22BHP and 45Nm if someone decent does it.

Unofficial advice is go raking in a scrappy, when you find a button stick it in your pocket.

The 180 unit will have ESP so avoid it, if you bought a 180 it'd have these stalks anyway.

If it's the one in the picture then it looks like the one. If you don't have auto lights then try get one ...

I'd recommend a new one if the car is being kept, use the discount codes and see what they come out at with ECP?
If having it a year or so, get one from a scrappy, you'll be looking at less than ebay ...

a CC unit doesn't have rear wiper function (compare the 2 you linked, you'll see the difference).

£70 for a used unit is really expensive, you want a 2005ish onwards if paying that, they changed s ...

Some stalks have the removable cap, you may as well source one with the trip button though since it's being replaced anyway.
