yeah sorry i thought i had updated it Embarassed

all that was wrong with the front end was a wheel bearing and the lower suspension arm.

the main culprit was excessive play in the offside rear whee ...

this happens on my partners fiat punto.it sounds absolutely normal until you get to 4 thousand rpm and then it goes all high pitched.like you it's hard to explain exactly how it sounds but it doesn't ...

right the verdict is in on what was up with the handling on the gti.

there is excessive play in the offside rear wheel.its terrible,it moves around as if someone is steering it.now all that was wro ...

possibly a problem with the starter solenoid or the starter itself.only way to be absolutely sure about this would be to test for voltage at the starter motor when the key is turned.

i haven't really tried to keep a note of my mpg,my 2000 gti doesn't have a onboard computer so i solely need to rely on simple maths and either fill the tank completely up or wait until the light come ...

the cars going in to the garage to have the lower arm replaced,on the last mot there was an advisory for excessive play in the lower arm.that was last april but to be fair the car has only done 2k sin ...

if its the relay then replace it,or try another one if it fits and see if it works.have you looked at the wiper linkage to see how it is,just incase it has came away.
