OK, traced the line to the OBD port, pin 3 is the same as pin 11 of the "aircon cut-off unit". The connection is good between the two but there is no ac or dc voltage present. What signal is expected ...

Sorry, must have been unclear. The tacho is graded up to 7000rpm - my problem is that the needle doesn't move. I don't think I've ever managed to get the engine above 4000rpm Smile

It won't. I can crank for ever, then one touch of the feed to the batt and up she starts. My friends Citreon (xud9) was exactly the same (even in the summer).

Yep, sits there at 150rpm ish on the starter. Can sit there for minutes - should I wish to flatten battery. Doesn't slow down or even try to fire.

lol. The starter is spinning the crank fine.

It looks like I have fuel pressure - I think this because the fuel lines to the injectors are weeping fuel. So I'm not (yet) thinking it is the fuel imo ...
