small leak at the bottom of PAS pump

#1: small leak at the bottom of PAS pump Author: Sim, Location: West Country PostPosted: Mon Jun 22, 2015 1:59 pm

This clip has given up

Put two jubilee clips, but they are either too weak or wrongish place, that it still drops. Understandably, it's all high pressure, so how would it be best to go about?

Cheers!

That's the low pressure side. The hose might be knackered.

Thanks Edward, after numerous retightenings ended up replacing the whole part, but alas still drops Neutral

I suspect the jubilee clip (that I bought from peugeot dealer P/N 6981 H6, nor any other ones I tried earlier) doesn't circularly compress 360deg reliably all-round the hose, the harness below the clip's screw is bending too sharp

I read one should never overtighten the clip, neighbour suggested superglue (a bit too harsh for eventual removal), other fellows said silicon sealant

I'm now thinking about buying a hose clamp tool instead with properly sized clip, what do you reckon?

Here's the bugger, still leaking (yellow blankers were in both ends, so hose is pristine, so is the old one's innards, after closer inspection) - anyway, it's good I renewed it as it had a custom quick fix job cut in the first 3rd as you can see

Holy thread resurrection batman,

The tool you need to clamp the original low pressure hose clip is called "Clic-R collar pliers"

Peugeot dealer would just give you a jubilee clip (P/N 6981 H6) as a replacement (as they don't assume you have such a tool), however in my experience no jubilee clip worked well, and they would all start to trickle fluid eventually, slowly but surely.

I'm yet to find the right size replacement click-r clip itself, any help in sought is welcome!

What diameter is the hose / old clip?

Old Clic-R clip measured roughly 18.25mm once clicked on.

I've ordered a set from China and another from USA (different sizes), will take time to deliver, but it's a good thing to have around (mates from the garage mention them from time to time).
