#1: 206 SW Wiper Issue. Author: swampdrake PostPosted: Wed Apr 11, 2018 4:53 am

Hi, the wipers on my 206 SW ( 54 plate ) are, instead of finishing their wipe in the 'down' position are now finishing their wipe in the 'up' position . Ive no idea why as until a couple of days ago they have always been fine.

Any help, solutions would be appreciated...many thanks

Your 206 is multiplexed so the wipers are CAN controlled.

The wipers are in the SERVICE position.

Turn the ignition ON, then turn the key OFF.

Now press the wiper stalk DOWN & the wipers should park in the correct position.

Start the engine & activate the front screen wash & see where the wipers park at the end of the cycle.

The wiper service position is part of the software in multiplexed PSA Peugeot / Citroen vehicles to allow easy wiper blade replacement - 206 doesn't need it due to the way the wiper arms sit but some PSA stuff the bonnet stops you lifting the arms up when the wipers are parked.

Hi MrBSI, thanks for your reply. Ive just been out and tried that method, and it's only partially solved the problem.
Turned the igntion on, then off, as you suggested and the wipers returned to their ' parked ' position, which is good...however ...

I then started the engine and tried to activate the screen wash ( this is done by pulling the stalk toward me to activate the washers ), but the washers dont operate on their own, the wipers have to be in operation. So I turned the wipers on, and once again they stopped in the ' service ' position at the end of the cycle.

Its a bit of a puzzler.

Have the wiper arms been removed recently?

Hasn't had a new screen fitted by any chance?

No, the wipers havent been removed, not to my knowledge anyway. had the vehicle parked for 3 weeks in a 'secure' car park near Manchester Airport , I picked it up a couple of weeks ago upon returning from holiday...the wiper blades do seem to be a lot more worn than they were before we went away. Thing is the wipers have been working since picking the car up, and it was only a couple of days ago this problem occurred.

First thing: Reboot the BSI unit ( instructions should be in the forum FAQ section somewhere )

If that doesn't cure it then it might be the Comm 2000 unit starting to fail.

Sure that isn't just a dirty or greasy screen that is making them look worn?
