My girlfriends 2002 1.1 has developed starting issues.

Everytime it is started it turns over more than normal before firing and when it does it runs on 3 cylinders for a few seconds.

After this it runs and drives normally. If you turn it off and start it again it starts normally.

But if left for anything more than 10 minutes it will do it again.

Its like the fuel is draining back when stood, can this happen ? Does this model have a fuel filter because i cant find it if it has.

Should have a fuel filter I would have thought. I'd check that and injectors, and run some injector cleaner through it

I have tried to follow fuel lines from tank to under bonnet and cant see a filter at all. There is a filter on the pick up in the tank, under back seat. I cant seem to undo the retaining ring on this to have a look though. Doesn't seem to have ever been undone and feels like its gonna break.
