Hi There,
Just recently my 206 gti has developed a problem with the heater/blower. It seems to be blowing full regardless to what the digital display says and even when turned off. It seems to blow mainly on to the screen. It does seeem to still regulate the temperature but thats about it. ANy ideas?

First of all, remove the fuse in the drivers side fusebox, this will stop it blowing at all.
You'll need to replace the blower motor, as the resistor is built in. To get to it, remove the glovebox, and reach behind the instrument panel, 1/4 turn the blower motor to release it. It will have one plug in it that you will need to unplug.

Yeah worked for me. Mine had the same problem when I bought it, and that solved it. A new panel didn't do anything. Just get hold of a preplex gti breaker, think I paid £35 quid for mine.

I have the same problem - the blower motor, is that the right part description or a nickname ? And is it easy to replace ?
Does it make any difference with age of car ? Mine's a 2002.
Have just had a look on ebay and am not sure what I need, the blower motor or a new resistor - they range from £20 to £100.
My search on ebay was '206 blower motor' !!
Any help is much appreciated.

I'm not sure if the multiplexed 206's have a resistor built in to the blower motor. If it is separate, then I would have said just the resistor needs replacing, seeing that the motor actually still 'works'.
