right guys ive had this really annoying sound comming from my driver's side wheel for the past few month's , it is a like high pitch sound going to the momentum of the wheel

when i apply the brake the sound turns into a crunching noise , very noticeable when breaking at lights /slowing down

i have had my pads and my bearings changed but still the noise continues and it is doing my nut in !

guy at the garage i use said its the actually hub its self but i have given the car to another garage and they it is the driveshaft :s

i personally myself took the wheel off and spun the section around, i noticed the noise happens once per 360 spin on the same section every spin if that makes any sense what so ever

i'm not really good with car's just an amazing driver ahah (i wish)

if anyone has any clue what is it i would be really grateful as i feel garages are just trying to mug me off

thanks

Sounds like your driveshaft to be honest buddy. would get it sorted before it gets worse, broken driveshafts can cause the car to shake and make the car unsafe.

I had a warped disc which caused me something like that a while ago. Not saying that's what is wrong with your's but I heard about three different diagnosis before I found the issue.

It squeaked as the disc rotated and and when the brakes were applied it got louder, But the wheels also shuddered as I broke which was strong enough to feel back though the steering. If the garage said you have a dip you should change them anyway then see if there is any difference.

Warped or worn discs?

I had a problem in a previous car where the disc was worn, and the lip on the edge of the disc was scruffing on the pad.

I'm joining the 'warped disc' crew. I had the same noise and changing the discs fixed it. A cheap fix you can do yourself too Smile

I have a grinding sound aswell, i tried new pads and discs and then about a month later there is a slight grinding noise again as though the discs need replacing again. I felt the brake discs and there is already a slight lip on them, is that right after about a month??

Thanks guys, guy at garage reckons it is defiantly the hub, so is replacing that and if the disks are worn or warped then getting them replaced too, hope this sorts out this bloody noise! Apart from this the car has been a lil gem!
