Red mirrors is something I'm thinking about, especially seeing as I have sone cans of VW Flash Red I never even used ages ago. Would like a stubby drivers side mirror though, not sure how much it would matter but painting them bright red would probably show up the fact that they're different sizes.

Thanks for all the comments, really appreciate them!

P.S. Looks like I've seriously got my work cut out keeping these clean, I've done about 10 miles on them and they were looking a bit filthy round the lips! So I've been out cleaning them already, less than 24 hours after fitting them! Lol.

leave it as it is mate. all black and the red wheels looks so bold mate, it will loose some of the impact if you start dressing it with random red bits.

The thought crossed my mind, think I like them black though, and I don't want to overdo it with too many red bits.

Think I saw you driving through heather the other day, either that or someone's copied your red alloys idea.

Did this earlier...

Took the rear adjusters out of the coilovers. As you can see it went down quite a bit, giving me some nasty reverse rake. Love how the rear looks at that height, but I kinda said to myself I wouldn't go any lower on the front, hmmm. I went for a quick drive round the block like that and the rear was rubbing a lot, as expected. So I jacked it back up and put the adjusters back in.

Other updates, nothing exciting but I've replaced discs & pads up front as one side was warped. Bought a new VW rear badge off eBay in black to replace my slightly shabby DIY effort. My roof rails kept lifting up to the point where I was pushing them back in everytime I went to the car, annoying. Turns out they just needed bending slightly, thought they were plastic not metal, lol. Problem solved and another minor issue out the way.

A mate of mine has got me a bit of pipe for the chassis notch so hopefully that will be happening soon. I will also be booking it in for a service soon, including a gearbox oil change mainly for peace of mind. I really want to get the rear arches rolled aswell, keep thinking about it.

And lastly, some pics of the rear on my little contraption of a ramp so I can get the trolley jack under, does the job lol. Nice and low, arch is basically sitting on the tyre.

Ohhh and how could I forget, I FINALLY got me some pressed plates, should have been the first thing I bought for the car but instead it's took almost 2 years. Got them from Bug Jam, asked for UK legal ones like the ones on display which had the 'BS' code and the place they were made on them, pretty sure the guy making them had been drinking, lol, they came out decent but I didn't get no 'BS' code or anything, totally plain, paid £30 for the pair. We then walked about 10 yards further down the road and came across a place doing them for £25 a pair and claimed that they and Dubmeister are the only known places who sell properly legal ones.... so yeah, you could say I was a bit gutted. They've improved the look of the car though so I'm reasonably happy.

I want to get some, they look so much better. Did you have to show them your V5 or anything to get the plates made?

very nice mate,

i know what you mean about the rear as if i hit a pot hole or bump in road then my tyre rubs the arch and if i run my hand under the arch i can feel all the rubber lol and you can see on the strech i have where it has hit just like lil marks... i think i need some harder springs lol

No, I even had my V5 with me and they weren't interested in seeing it. Presumably to be properly legal the place needs some sort of approval, and presumably Dubmeister have. Just because the plates have the 'BS' code on them it doesn't necessarily mean they're allowed to sell them as legal? That's what I'm thinking now anyway, I didn't know that at the time though, it makes sense I guess but it hadn't crossed my mind.

Cheers, and yeah, think I'm getting a bit sick of it now, it's a horrible noise and it slowly destroys the tyre sidewalls. Having said that I refuse to take the spacers out as I like the stance lol.

You getting your arches rolled?
