Hi guys,
My 2004 206 1.4 has got a clunking noise when turning on a car park or at slow speed. Can sit at standstill, turn the wheel and hear a clunking noise, sounds like a spring tensioning and releasing :S when driving and turning it doesn't do it. Any ideas??
Cheers
Austin

If you think it sounds like a spring tensioning then releasing, it could be a spring has broke and it gets caught then when you turn the lock further it releases again. Personally, I would have a close look at your suspension mate.

As aside above sounds like the top mount bearing is fooked and is struggling to move Freeley with the movement with the spring.

Cheers for the reply guys. Have had a quick look tonight, got the mrs to turn wheel whilst I was looking at the O/S/F strut. The strut and spring turn but then the spring seems to jump a couple of mm, this is when it clunks. Looking from the engine bay the black rubber on the top mount vibrates when it clunks aswell. I think your right, its the top mount bearing.
