Hello Ordered a new Under Engine guard for my 2004 206 2.0 HDi . This is what I got ... and its not right . But paperwork says it is ... strange huh ! the bolt holes don't even line up .. grrrrr Is mine a bit speshul mines the dirty one .. if you didn't guess !

I got exactly the one you have (the dirty one), from 2.0 HDi year 2000

The bigger cut-out is for some reason shown on service box no matter the model, and there don't seem to any visually different variants, all schematics are the same

Bigger cut-out is probably for a bigger exhaust/cat/dpf/what not, are you sure mounting points don't line up at all, maybe give it a wiggle?

Got me curious now, as it would be nice to protect the sump when car is lower Smile

Why are you renewing yours, something snapped? Wink

I guess last resort is to call a dealer and try to describe visual differences, see what they come up

Does this mean I could get one for my GTI? Would also like a bit of protection for the sump and also helps keep it a bit cleaner under the bonnet

yes, but like Edward once said, petrols are hotter and this wouldn't help them cool

Also for those prone to leak things, it would be harder to notice one (otoh driveway could stay clean Smile

) Unless you probe your car regularly Very Happy

I also search by part number -- looks like sellers don't bother putting up an actual picture, random ones with big cut out, others with small

Thanks for that might be something to consider but might need more ducting to keep temp down. Just looked on service box but cant find info on different types etc

I found one that looks similar on ebay . Item number 331468927480 But the vents look a bit different ... what do you think ? Thanks for the replies and info ... Col

Shouldn't make that much difference in a petrol .. there are plenty of holes and gaps around the under-tray .. I've got an alloy one on the Alfa and it makes no difference to the engine temp but it does keep the engine bay a lot cleaner! And when you hear scraping it's a replaceable sheet of metal and not my gearbox/sump bridging plate !!


	Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.

Well Edward has TBs in his petrol, so heat reasons are to be considered in modified scene:) im afk now, will look at ebay later, unless someone else does

Thanks But mines a Diesel HDI 2.0 . not Petrol. Only changing it because after the oil change I found it was a bit worn out.

Some petrol engined cars do have under trays fitted. I guess the main reason on a diesel is to reduce noise.

Wouldn't have thought an undertray would make that much of a difference as heat rises. Granted not as much cold air would be able to enter from underneath, but the effects shouldn't be too major.
