Hi I was wondering I have a 1.4 8v tu3a engine and was wondering if they have hydraulic tappets? If not how do I stop tapping noise?

No hydraulic tappets on a TU3.
There manual adjustment & must be set COLD - engine left standing overnight to cool down.
Number 1 cylinder is gearbox end.
You need a new rocker cover gasket & don't over tighten the rocker cover bolts as you will warp the cover leading to leaks.
FWIW: The stoneage mid 1980s TU engine design has always been a bit tappy.

I not too confident in doing this roughly do you know how much it would cost for a garage to do it

I would suspect an hours labour charge would cover it.
It would be a simple job for an older mechanic to do.

The inlet valve lifters were loose
