hi folks , wifeys 2000 1.1 206 has had the eml light on for a while now..
its running fine apart from a slightly lumpy tickover..
we have cleared the codes but they came back on...
PO170 fault dosage carburant
PO130 fault oxygen sensor circuit
PO131 low tension oxygen sensor
i have used a couple of doses of injector cleaner and given it a damn good thrashing..
any advice would be really apreciated!!

hi folks after a couple of doses of injector cleaner and a does of all purpouse cleaner i bought new oxygen sensors, hoping to fit them this weekend .. i went out for a little run and the eml light went out all by itself, i thought the bulb had blown but no.. any suggestions would be appreciated

Hi, P0130 and P0131 faults suggest a failing pre-cat (upper) oxygen sensor or its wiring/connectors. It then might send the wrong reading to the ECU, which makes the fuel too rich, could result in P0170.
If that's the case, your cat takes the beating, and might even be glowing hot after a ride.
If it's never been changed, then the sensor itself may have gone faulty for a year 2000 car, similar case here: www.206info.co.uk/Foru...p0130.html
Another example: this fellow found the fault after reconnecting the fuse (F15 which is responsible for many other things), so maybe it was a bad wire connection in the loom towards the sensor: www.206info.co.uk/Foru...p0170.html
Although your car being pre-plexed (year 2000) will have only oxygen sensors on your fuse F25.

hi, thanks for your response, i bought another can of cleaner and ordered some new lambda & oxygen sensors.. when they turned up i the light went out on its own...sensors are sat waiting to be installed when it comes on again.. i only have to find out what the occasional squeal from 5th gear at about 60 mph

Where is it coming from? I bet you located the source by now, if not: use an automotive stethoscope (or just a metal rod with one end against your ear or the skull's bone next to it)
Amongst many things that come up during ignition, one is fuel pump (near the tank), and perhaps also a throttle body test.

thanks mate, i had a mechanic look at it this morning and it sound like the throttle body could be the cause... although it stopped making anu noise when he was getting close to locating it.. for now its a mystery..
