Another little update i have finished my gearbox build which i fitted the ratios from a 180 gearbox with low 1st gear to my 137 rod change box also fitting 4.5 CWP and a Quaife ATB diff
Apoligies for poor pic quality as i only had my phone with me

4.5 CWP

Quaife ATB

I would ideally like a close ratio gear kit but the lower 1st & 4.5CWP will suffice for the moment

For those who are curious using 17" wheels & 7000rpm shift point
137 1st gear is 3.455:1 rev drop 1st to 2nd 3211RPM
180 cable change box 1st is 2.923:1 rev drop 1st to 2nd 2522RPM
Quaife kit 1st is 2.692:1 rev drop 1st to 2nd 1974RPM
Standard CWP in 137 = 3.79:1
If any one wants complete rev drop & top speed for each gear i can post it up for both boxes

All the rest of the Gear ratios 2nd-5th are same in both 137 & 180 boxes
I swapped into 137 box as i wanted to keep rod change instead of cable change

I also finished seam welding my subframe and strengthened the gearlever mount & painted it up

I fitted my PEC Steel Rods,Wossner pistons,Billett Flywheel,Helix Paddle clutch & Alloy Crank Pulley, New main & big end bearings

Dial Guage to locate Actual TDC for dialing in Cams later

Actual TDC

Lastly for now a pic of the spacer unit yo extend Steering rack/track rod arm

Steering rack with extended rack adapters & longer boots fitted ready to refit to subframe

No problem. I bought Wössner pistons but still didnt bought any conrods. Wiseco K1 Tech conrods 40 gr heavier than stock gti180 conrods. Wössner conrods 30 gr lighter then stock gti180 one but price is almost double. I'm still thinking.

Good idea on strengthening gear linkage pivot as that's what I had to have done 'after' I snapped mine. Good choice on the fly wheel also I couldn't be leave the difference between the weights.

How bonnet will close with that Airbox. Your inlet manifold simply straight. Not curved like Jenvey one. Good luck with your bonnet clearance.

As for gear ratios, I think this website is useful...
