his car (hyundai coupe) i didnt have a close look but probs very badly scraped and lots of my paint on his car
how much could painting the back bumper cost?
should i own up?
can he claim if it was in a private gravel car park with no cctv ?

No one is here is going to tell you to not own up to it put it that way. You should obviously I'd be very pi**ed off if I was him.

depends how bad bumper is as to cost to repair. anywhere from £150 upwards really for a full bumper, any damage to rear quarters aswell will add cost. is the bumper intact or does it need replacing? what damage is behind the bumper?
not trying to put you off doing the right thing, just trying to make you aware of what it could entail.

I ended up with a damaged front bumper, two knackered bumper mounts, damage to the front valance and hidden damage to the badge panel.
A witness passed on the car details to me which I used to make a claim and inform the police as it is classed as leaving the scene of an accident. If they'd have owned up I'd have probably left it as I did the majority of repairs myself.
