#1: Racing Seats Author: jwhite66, Location: SouthamptonPosted: Wed Aug 18, 2010 6:40 pm ---- I'm looking for a pair of racing seats for my 206, can anyone help me find and also give me information on how I will have to fit them, i.e. Fitting Frames??
#2: Re: Racing Seats Author: |SGP|, Location: Truro/Falmouth, CornwallPosted: Wed Aug 18, 2010 6:43 pm ---- Get 180 seats
#3: Re: Racing Seats Author: jwhite66, Location: SouthamptonPosted: Wed Aug 18, 2010 6:44 pm ---- Where from??
#4: Re: Racing Seats Author: Iain, Location: Aberdeen, ScotlandPosted: Wed Aug 18, 2010 6:53 pm ---- 180 seats are awfully heavy if it's for track use or something similar.
But if it's just for road use, they come up on here and eBay relatively often.
#5: Re: Racing Seats Author: jwhite66, Location: SouthamptonPosted: Wed Aug 18, 2010 6:55 pm ---- Yeh it is just for road use. Ok thanks a lot!
#6: Re: Racing Seats Author: |SGP|, Location: Truro/Falmouth, CornwallPosted: Wed Aug 18, 2010 6:57 pm ---- Sorry I just thought I'd get there first. When people ask for racing/bucket seats they usually want stiff from halfords to look cool in their 1.1's, but they feel horrible, look stupid and don't help in your car.
if this isn't the case then I have no idea about real good track seating.
If it is the case, then don't buy cheapy bucket seats, buy quality gti180 seats that are actually comfortable!
Ok just read your post. Definately go for 180 seats if you afford them! If not, then save up
#7: Re: Racing Seats Author: jwhite66, Location: SouthamptonPosted: Wed Aug 18, 2010 6:59 pm ---- Even though my 206 isn't a gti, can i still expect the seats to fit my 206? If i bought some "206 gti front seats" off ebay, should they fit?
#8: Re: Racing Seats Author: Iain, Location: Aberdeen, ScotlandPosted: Wed Aug 18, 2010 7:20 pm ----

They'll fit no problem.
#9: Re: Racing Seats Author: |SGP|, Location: Truro/Falmouth, CornwallPosted: Thu Aug 19, 2010 2:31 am ---- Gti seats and gti180 seats are completely different, just so you know. Gti seats are pretty much standard I think
#10: Re: Racing Seats Author: Lowercase, Location: East SussexPosted: Thu Aug 19, 2010 2:34 am ---- yea gti seats are the same seats found in the CC and sport (and similar trim levels) only difference being that they are half leather.
Im on the lookout for some recaro's out of the Megane F1
#11: Re: Racing Seats Author: Ape, Location: Clipping the Apex!Posted: Thu Aug 19, 2010 2:50 am ---- A Racing Seat?
I doubt you want one of these:
Which is what you've asked for. I think you mean a bucket seat in the sense of a Gti180 Seat or the type you get from Halfords that all the cool kids buy for their cars.

that looks bone shattering
Try ebay and such like..youll need the correct frame adapters when getting universal bucket seats.
#13: Re: Racing Seats Author: Mr_Cellexe, Location: HertfordshirePosted: Thu Aug 19, 2010 3:40 am ---- meh, all you do to those frames is add padding! like so.
tbh, youre looking for racing bucket seats by the likes of Sparco, OMP, Corbeau, Bride etc etc. plenty of decent bargains around on the net. Found a nice deal on a pair of Sparco WRC seats, subframes, side mounts and 4 point road legal harnesses fro under a grand!
EDIT: btw, they are much comfier than the GTi/180 seats too
#14: Re: Racing Seats Author: |SGP|, Location: Truro/Falmouth, CornwallPosted: Thu Aug 19, 2010 4:06 am ---- Comfier than 180 seats?? Nahh. Get some that blend in with your interior atleast, rather than bright blue or red ones!
#15: Re: Racing Seats Author: sniper1, Location: Warwickshire for home-london for workPosted: Thu Aug 19, 2010 4:48 am ---- demontweeks for race seats

#16: Re: Racing Seats Author: jwhite66, Location: SouthamptonPosted: Thu Aug 19, 2010 4:30 pm ---- If i was to buy other brand racing seats that you have stated above - "Sparco, OMP, Corbeau, Bride etc " - would i need to get different frames underneath the seat in order for them to fit or would my standard 206 ones allow them? Or be easily adjusted to allow them? and where is the "forsale" bit?
#17: Re: Racing Seats Author: sniper1, Location: Warwickshire for home-london for workPosted: Thu Aug 19, 2010 4:34 pm ---- yea dude when you buy the seats you will have to buy sub frames specific for the 206 there normaly around £60 each...but some companys will have offers on for seats and subframes

depends on your body size, weight etc, a set of high end recliners make 180 seats look and feel like s**t to be honest, buckets can be comfy dependant on brand and what you spend, but generally are abit stiff, if you honestly think the best car seats are something the french made then.... and yeah i have sat in them they are comfy but ive also sat in recaros and some nice corbreau ones which were better, and seen as 180 go for lke 500 as you want rears to match your not far off a set of brand new set of recliners

I've sat in a 180 seat before, did my back in, bloody awful seats, my leather sport seats are much more comfy.
Best seats i've ever sat in where in a Volvo, really good for the back
#29: Re: Racing Seats Author: no_offences, Location: LeedsPosted: Tue Feb 15, 2011 7:02 am ---- one thing tho id rather have 180s then them god awful seats above, lightweight or not!
#30: Re: Racing Seats Author: HDiMan, Location: high wycombe.BucksPosted: Tue Feb 15, 2011 11:22 am ---- I have recaro's in mine now.I brought a pair of mint used Recaro seats (£220),new Recaro subframes (£180) and had the rears retrimmed (£100 inc cloth) to match for about £500 in all,the door cards i didn't get retrimmed as they matched very well !The Recaro seats have leg extentions that pull out and pump up up lumbar support for your back.Far more comfy than gti 180 seats too !
#32: Re: Racing Seats Author: kamracing, Location: St. AlbansPosted: Tue Feb 15, 2011 12:35 pm ---- at the moment we have some massive discounts on the OMP seats, frames and harnesses etc. We are considerably lower than anyone else so if you want proper buckets you can grab a bargain through us..
#33: Re: Racing Seats Author: Seabook, Posted: Tue Feb 15, 2011 1:04 pm ---- do you have info discount on those seat?

They're basically at cost price + the transaction fees on the site as we've been set a volume target in order to stay a distributor of OMP. Until our deal ends any further discount would only be through bank transfer as this cuts out the transaction fees..

How much would it be for a pair of Ars carbon seats c/w 206 subframes? And transfer the funds into your account? Inc delivery? Thanks
#36: Re: Racing Seats Author: kamracing, Location: St. AlbansPosted: Tue Feb 15, 2011 2:38 pm ---- for a bank transfer it'd be £2041.65 for the 2x seats and 2x 206 subframes so an extra £107.46 off vs site price (RRP on this would total £2866.22)
shipping to you in luton would be £20.40 so a total of £2062.05 delivered

Yeah they're really comfy but they weigh a ton! Debating whether to get light weight racing seats. But don't know if i could face getting rid of the 180 interior!

fuel economy, but would have to do some maths to work out how long it'd take to break even its how i'm justifying ITBs on my car
