#1: Styling advice (rim tape? + Caliper colours) Author: pete_206, Location: Ash, SurreyPosted: Sun Aug 22, 2010 3:57 pm ---- Hi chaps,
This evening while considering what else I could do to add a splash of colour to my car I thought rim tapes... for those of you who are unfamiliar with what that is, its a small line of vinyl tape that runs around the outer edge of the rim that you usually find more on motorbikes than on cars.
Example:
So heres a close up of a wheel and the car at a distance:
I have red calliper paint sitting in the garage but the weathers been so crap recently that I haven't got round to doing the callipers (garage isn't large enough, need to do on the drive)
But basically, the advice I want, do you think red tape and red callipers would go or would that be a tad too risky? I'm thinking if I do the tape and callipers blue that might look better as its going to be alot more colour on the car instead of just doing the callipers alone. So red or blue?? you mean like every other taped wheel out there at the moment? First things first, black and silver is going to look silly. Secondly, why would I go to the effort of completely refurbing a freshly refurbed set of rims? So... Blue or red!!

Its already lowered 30mm on the front. Torsion bar I am waiting on a mate for, can't do it myself and can't afford to take it into a garage at the moment. This is asking advice about which colour will work best, not about what you want to see different on my 206!

Cheers Jordan for colour opinion.. it isn't completely decided that I will buy it yet just need to get a few bits of colour over the car. And as for the other advice, check my project page. I'm planning to get that stuff done, but I can't do everything overnight.
And Snow_n_Low, I'm asking for an opinion on a specific area of the car. If you don't like the tape idea / think another colour altogether would look good then fair enough. Thats on the subject. I didn't open the thread for random advice. If you want to dish out random advice, leave it on my project page. This thread is purely about the taping/ calliper colouring. mmm... well yeh... hmm. I think a dark glossy blue then. I wanted to paint the front badge and the toe bars the same colour as the callipers as well. And think I may agree Brian.. I'm actually suddenly getting doughts about taping... I think it might be abit too much colour. But I think I'm onto something potentially...
What about just some simple blue lion decals? Then stick them on one spoke on each alloy. very small.. say 3*3 inch max.
