So far the crank is finished, fully knife edged and a load of weight gone.
Billet steel flywheel purchased from Pug1off
Billet alloy crank pulley from Pug1off
Custom Cams from Piper with an approx 288 profile made for us by the man himself
Cylinder head further modified with 2mm bigger inlet and exhaust valves. The biggest issue here is the cams have too bigger lift for the springs. The solution is to fit custom springs and machine the spring seats to fit. The decision to fit hydraulic lifters has been suggested by Piper themselves as there may be issues with fitting solids.
Dummy build was being done last week to see if the pockets were big enough in the pistons.
Next step is to do the machining and final build, set up the cams and refit the engine in the car if everything fits. Weld up the engine mounting points and send it off to the rolling road....... all before FCS

Be careful with oil pump. It can be explode at 9000 rpm. Lots of French guys know this problem. My GTI180 Turbo friend lost oil pump 2 times.
An update for you Schumi.... I have found a manufacturer of an upgraded oil pump for the EW10J4 and S engines........ wider rotor and made of stronger stuff..... I have one fitted in my new engine and have another pump coming.....
Would you mind saying where from and cost as maybe interested in a pump
