You are the one person I thought would like this car, tbh.
And I actually LOL'ed at your phrase 'top 25 of what'. I remember saying that at FCS 2010

Had a good day today.
Test fitted some tyres to my new wheels
Fitted new baseplate for the mirrors
Fitted standard washer jets and replumbed the water
Fitted aero wipers
Sold my sub and bought a front bumper
Once bumper is fitted going to attack the skirts then and leave it like this over the winter.
#54: Re: From Rags To Richs - E.M.C Demo Car v2 Author: vanman_foci, Location: Barry, South WalesPosted: Sat Nov 13, 2010 2:57 pm ---- BIG UPDATE!!!
MK1.5 front bumper fitted. Side skirts ripped off. The primer grey was just to cover up some bare metal!
Not bad progress, seen as I have only owned the car 10 days.
Got to do alot of work on the rear quarters now though.
Going to change my plans alot now as I didn't thnk I would have this much bodywork to do.
Wheels should be on next weekend

But i dont get it..surely a plain start would have been easier, then you know the car is yours with everything you do?
i just get the feeling once you've finished it, people will always remember what it used to look like...
Hopefully im wrong, and it turns out to be a show stopper, but ive got my reservations on that one, sorry bud

This is a fair comment.
1 reason why I wanted this car is I know the history. My bro in law owned it for 2 years. Subura mechanic so it's been mechnically looked after. Paid £1500 for it, 04 plate with 47k on the clock, new timing belt, waterpump, clutch and MOT
2nd reason is all the parts I have sold have gone on bits I need so as of yet I haven't put any money out.
And look at the title Rags to Richs
All this progress in 10 days! Only 7 months to finish it
