Since January 2004, no tint is allowed infront of the B-Pillar Wink

All cars, have a slight tint as factory standard.

what lee said is correct mate. no tint past the b pillar (other then factory standard) is allowed... if you do get it done the garage will probably as you to sign a waver to say that you understand it is illegal but still wish for the work to be carried out

honestly

R-Tec ( very high rep mod company) state they will tint forward windows but you MUST sign a waver of responsibility and acknowledgement to state that you know it is alegal and wont hold them reasponsible for any accidents or any criminal convictions.

we got the v reg golf done by them still had to sign the form. plus factory tints arent a film which gives it the darker look without obsucring light transparency like a film iirc.

You'd be surprised. Lean the glass up against something, and you'll notice a colour difference. The 206 has sort of a green tint.

Yeh it is illegal but its depends how dark you go IMO

Can we not start the usual forum arguments on legality?

I have 50% on my fronts and have they have never had a problem with the police and round here the local police are always checking up on us Smile

Plus the post count we had from the previous one Laughing

Admittedly some of it is spam, but 90% of it is useful

I got pulled by vosa the 2 weeks ago, who were sat on a roundabout. They made me remove my front tints, and said that any front tints were illegal, meaning my tax and insurance where invalid.
So I spent the next day pulling them off (through gritted teeth and cursing them to hell) with a hair dryer because they prohibitoned the car, and told me if it was spotted on the road they'd impound it. (Once I'd reported to them to show the tints had been removed they removed the prohibition)
TBH I think just having the back 3 looks s**te, like its a half job, but I can't go and have them put back on because I know I'll just get tagged again =/ But most places seem to dish out different rules on whether the front ones can be done past "manufactured tint"

Most car's are tinted at 20-30% from the factory, even my 306 is and that's 1996.

But in answer to your question, £150 is about the going rate.
