How do you drive?
Roads you drive on?
How long you drive for?
Time of day you drive?
Serviced regularly?
What MPG are you getting?
Are you using full tanks or just tenners?

Need a lot more information than what you've wrote.

True all Hdi's should have really good mpg , How do you drive and when was last service ? Also any weight in the car or even tyre pressures can make a difference. Loads of short journeys would make it worse and not as good too

The fuel guages are pretty s**t on the 206, not accurate at all tbh.

Note how many miles you have done, fill the tank up and note how many litres you have put in. Then work out the MPG

i have an02 hdi and i use it for work so i do 2 miles stop. Half a mile stop. 1.7 miles stop. Like that all day and i worked out 55 to the gallon. I did Glasgow and home which is a round trip of over 500 miles and did that on £40 of diesel. Mind you i dont drive fast.
