Indicators with a mind of their own!
-> 206 Problems

#1: Indicators with a mind of their own! Author: JJ0063, Location: Norfolk PostPosted: Wed Dec 08, 2010 2:49 pm

Hi all,

Just a quick question about indicators here..

I started the car up this morning and the right indicator was on.. but the stalk was in the 'neutral' position i'll call it!

Now I flicked it to the left, and left came on, but then put it back to 'neutral' and the right one came on?

Is this just a case of whacking a bit of vaseline on the switch?

if i really carefully and slowly move the stalk about i can make them go off... sometimes for literally 3-4 seconds, or sometimes for a whole journey.

quite annoying when im driving down the road with people flashing their lights cause they think i dont realise my indicator is on! lol

Cheers

Jordan

i'll try the vaseline trick for a hopeful temporary fix as it may just be a dry connection i hope!

Are the peugeot indicator stalks interchangable? Ie. will one from a 106 or 306 fit? As there's no 206's at my local scrappy.

Cheers!

Hi, you can take the stalk apart and give the metal plates a clean, check nothings snapped or come loose. This worked for me and I've had no problems since.

read my above post! take the stalk off.. prise the top cover off.. clean the metal contacts... could even put a blob of vaseline in the joints to stop getting a dry joint.. put back together & hope for the best! Took me no more than 15 mins from start to finish including taking the cowling etc off
