www.206info.co.uk/Foru...tml#503044

Ok well here's my car; im 18 and have a 1.1 preplexed white 206 look.

She has gone on quite a journey since i got her and is still developing! anyway pics will do the talking:

Fully CC'd front, rear bumper, sidestrips
Black 17" alloys
GTI spoiler
SP Fuel cap
PH2 boot strip
Debadged
Standard black mirror caps
Full detail back in Dec '09
Front lowered on coilovers
Uprated rear shocks
Torsion bar adjusted 50mm
Euro style pressed plates

Car looks great. White cars always look fantastic IMO, and your does look spesh.

I'd get UK pressed plates instead of Euro ones though. Euro ones are illegal to use on the roads. www.dubmeister.co.uk sell UK road legal pressed plates.

Thanks! 206s do look gorgeous in white Laughing

Although saying that, most cars do these days, white is very much the 'in colour' just as black was previously.

Though about it but i want to keep it as standard as i can really, more just smoothing of colours and minimalising.

Black LED's would mean i'd need to replace the fog and 3rd brake with black aswell and thats just a bit chav

I love how it looks from the back atm just needs to sit lower and wider

But cheers for suggestions!

I do remember a white 206 now you mention it. Did you drive around with the Bump Strips on the bumpers removed (I guess whilst they were being sprayed)?

Between a couple of us, we know most of the guys and girls in the area who have modified motors Laughing

I'm not goin for the standard 180 lookalike i want something different, goin for a euro smooth, low look.

prefer the smoothness of no fogs on front bumper but would like a sports rear, wings i dont see the point they arent much of an improvement, arches no, doesnt go with smoothness for me. Back box yes though your right there!

UPDATE

Right not a huge one but couple of things that have taken longer to get done than they should, namely TORSION BAR Rolling Eyes

but on that note i would recommend The Pug Shop in Lye, in the West Midlands they did a great job for a good price, really know what they're doing.

Anyway yeah so torsion bar has been adjusted and coilovers adjusted, but need to go down a bit more on the front i know, will deal with that soon. 20mm spacers on the rear to compliment the lowness with some wideness lol. German style pressed plates fitted, i love them, some dont lol, but they go with the euro look. Only used for off road use OBVIOUSLY Laughing

Anyway took some nice pics here you go:

Next update should include crystals, cc'd door handles and front will be even lower and possibly a surprise involving some vinyl Cool feel free to guess lol...

Cheers for comments + suggestions Smile

rear bumper totally smooth other than fog
front badgeless grill
door handles cc'd
dewiper
crystals

will be nice n smooth and headin towards euro... maybe in the longer term a wheel change, but i like them tbh Smile lol

Update-ish

Well all this is leading up to a big update because i've bought a load of parts that i need and want Smile

Well firstly this lot arrived that i have needed to do for a while to give the car a general freshen up and fix a couple of niggles i have wanted to sort for ages!
Fuel, oil, pollen filters,
K&N panel filter,
Bosch super 4s
Check strap to replace on drivers door (v annoying door swinging open!)
Replacement wishbone after bishes have gone causing creaking! :@

Anyway got to work fitting all this and while i was there flushed coolant, replaced oil, checked all fluids bla bla... as u can see filters needed doing, car is running much smoother now Smile

K&N Wink hehe

Well thats all maintainance and not so interesting so i deciding while i'm spending money i'd treat myself and thanks to Alex aka kenny16m i got Some h7 crystals, GTi half leather interior, GTi leather wheel and electrics for electric window conversion im planning, all in great condition at a great price! Cheers mate! So after a trip down to wales i came back with a van full of goodies! Amazing how nice the leather interior came up after a good hoover, scrub down and leather treatment!! :

Some nice lights and interior to replace my GASH lights and interior!

Can't fully fit interior until i get electric windows sorted so will be another big update soon also inc crystals and leather wheel to go in! (and some painting going on) Wink

Although i did get bored and managed to replace the rear parts of the interior! Much better IMO:

Like i said hang fire more updates v v soon hopefully! Smile

Cheers for looking Laughing

Yeah just a little pee shooter i had lying around in the garage, was better than a rusty pipe. But i will be getting a smooth sports rear bumper and hidden exhaust so not doing anything with it till then Smile

Interior is nice yeah definately a great mod!

UPDATE

Bit of an update, got the rest of my interior in over the weekend, and my crystals and gti wheel. Front doorcards will have to wait until electric window conversion is done!

Interior - before:

Interior - after:

Wheel - before:

Wheel - after:

Lights - before: (crap)

Lights - during: (thats not me btw lol)

Lights - after:

Crystals are fitted with h4-h7 adapters and have led sidelights and xenon full and dipped beams, 100x better than the frosted lights! Will sound stupid but seats and wheel make it feel like driving a different car!

Anyway let me know what you think Smile Cheers

Got a couple of little bits done today, whacked out the hammerite!

Painted my front toe eye black as it stood out which i didnt like!

Before:

After:

Much better! Smoother looking front end now the tow eye is almost invisible.

Also did my front calipers, disk edges and hubs gloss black.
Looks ten times better than faded paint and rust i think Smile

Before:

After:

Also sorted out all my bits that need to be sold, heres the link to the thread, there's spacers, bolts, seats, steelies etc:

Cheers for looking comments and ideas welcome Smile

Very nice mate, i know what you mean about the seats. When i fitted gti seats in my old 206 it felt totally different, i loved it. I'm thinking about doing my calipers soon, was it just standard hammerite you used? how long did you have to leave it to dry before driving?

Yeah just standard hammerite, smooth drying i think though. And i only left it a couple of hours because i had to go out, seems fine though nothing comes in contact with where i painted anyway so doesnt really matter Smile

Yeah but with the halfrauds stuff you normally have to leave it 24hrs to fully harden, but that takes the p**s tbh Razz i'll have to get myself a tin of that, cheers Wink

Well since i'm going euro and smooth i'll be keeping the front bumper and rear lights, clear indicators are on the list however Wink

and next plans tbh are wheels... i'm thinking banded steelies or something equally low and wide Cool

dude, sports rear bumper. 307 front splitter sprayed white would make the front end look 2" lower and keep down the euro line....

banded steelies are cool but i dont think they'd really be inkeeping with your theme atm. try taking a look at imagewheels.com sure they'l have some on there you'll like Wink

Wheel plans are still very much open!! banded steelies was JUST an idea! and the £££ part is the problem im on a budget!!

Wheel suggestions would be greatly appreciated guys not looking for anything bigger than 15" want something wide an dished Cool

To be able to pull the euro look off you need rare and £££ wheels, thats what makes the look. Just save and keep an eye on ebay, can sometimes get a set of rare wheels at a bargain price Very Happy

Lovely but i think i'm gona have to wait til the right set comes along on Wheel whores/ebay/here or somewhere for the right price...

In the meantime i have my bumper to get on with, smoothing my aerial and other little details that will make a nice difference, i like my current wheels no real rush Smile

All about the details Wink

Alsooo... was bored so had a go at fitting my sports rear bumper before its smoothed and sprayed white:
I think it looks cool in a hideous sort of way lol... Shocked

I have the same wheels as you, although mine have a red stripe, you can get white ones with a blue lip stripe. On a side note... those led sidelights will start to go wrong, they start to flicker after 6-9 months, I had them, have tried pretty much all of the LED's and now use lux / flux some people list them differently Smile

Yeah mine we're black with a red pinstripe when i got them but soon grew out of it and had them painted over black. Much more subtle IMO, selling wheels soon anyway i think.

If the LED's go in 6 months thats fine with me i'll just replace them, at £1.40 a pair i'm not gonna grumble if they last me 6 months! I love them lol

Right couple of small bits i did today while i wait for my bumper to be done...

Firstly went and picked up these sp side repeaters today very pleased £10.50 the pair:

BEFORE:

AFTER:

Also, soon after my OCD took over and i noticed all sorts of crap on and wedged in my roof bars so they came out for the first time in their life:

All the grime before a blast with the Karcher:

Crap cleaned out but baked on grime that can be seen with the bars in still to get rid of, so out came the AG SRP:

A few minutes of elbow grease later and they are spotless, like new paint:

Bars back in, with some Sonus bumper gel to dress them, lovely:

Yes, i have OCD and that particular episode should probably be on detailing world? Rolling On The Floor Laughing and sorry about dutty car, c+c welcomed as always

Bars just pull out with one retaining plastic screw near the bottom by the bonnet, i pulled it out and you don't need it after they go back on fine just push back on, its quite clear how they stay on once you get them off Smile and cheers

Right a few small changed and additions first my new full leather front seats with loopy headrests. Great upgrade as they are mint, like new and my old GTi half leathers were VERY worn and torn

Also a few stickers, Wheel whores and FCS, had to do a little custom job on the petrol cap sticker to allow the keyhole to be used, came out rather well though i think, very neat

Also gave her a proper clean, well, "detail" today for a few hours in the baking sun, got my tan on lol Cool

Small interior update, had enough of the tacky gear knob and needed a drink holder so bought these:

Didnt like the 'chrome' base at the bottom of the knob so wrapped it in an old bit of black leatherette i found, came out like this:

Fitted them both; the gear knob was a pain took an hour or so to pull the bloody thing off and get it sitting straight and secure, happy with it though, looks smart i think!

From this:

To this:

(was typing this up ready to post as luke posted the pictures so thought i'd bang it up here lol)

Update

Finally a change of wheels Very Happy

Swapped my 17's for Matt (Teebag)'s 15" Wolfrace Octanes, got the bit of dish and stretch i was after now i just need it even lower Very Happy

Loving them so far car feels completely different, lighter and quicker and I have the use of full lock again! It is very low now the sills are close to the floor I'm having to avoid speed bumps even more than before Laughing

Anyway pics:

(most, if not all stolen from Ant)

As I said before I know it needs to be lower, torsion bar is coming down and helper springs coming out of the coilovers at xmas time Very Happy This is almost how low i want it: (on the back at least)

Also got some anthracite/graphite mirror caps (cheers Ant!) to compliment the wheels but its hard to see in any of these pics Sad

Next plans are exhaust, torsion bar and helper springs over xmas, and if the wheel swap becomes permanent I might consider some colour coded dishes or something else Wink

C&C

Jord

Right, finally got my suspension where i want it... and it is LOW, speedbumps are just a no-no, i have about 1.5inches space under the sills Laughing

Rear torsion bar was 50mm, now double that so 100mm on the back, pretty much on the bumpstops, front has had helper springs removed and wound all the way down, about 100mm too! There is no play in the suspension its like a rock so i am having to be careful Laughing

Thanks to Ape and A&E for doing the work for me Thumb Up

This gives an idea of how close it is to the floor at the sills behind the front wheels lol:

Car has gone away for a couple of months until i'm back from uni now but after that plans are wheel refurb with white dishes and black spokes, some parts resprayed, gloss black mirrors and possibly HIDs Very Happy

Definately, the amount of people on here who seem to think if it's the slightest bit impractical then don't do it.. just watch where you go and only stick to familiar places, I'd hate to have to turn around in the road just because of a speed bump Wink

LOLZ you'd have fun living where I am, you can't get to my house without encountering a minumum of 4 speed bumps, it's why I had to stop using the 306 as a daily Laughing

I think a set of Schmidt TH lines would finish it off Wink

Yep blocks of wood! although to get my car off the ramps when it was done we had to get people to physically lift the arches up to remove the ramp arms lol! i dont really see the lowness as a problem i like it, just gotta be more careful than a normal car Laughing

Looks really nice! I also have to plan my routes accordingly around speed bumps but hey you get used to it and it's always a good laugh Smile

Plans sound good, I'd also say a sports front bumper and now our exhaust is on fit a 180 trim around it Razz

And I know your prepared for the "not going over speedbumps" etc, but think of the snow!!!!!

Say bye bye to your bumpers, kind of pointless getting it lowered that much, since now you can't drive it anywhere lol, you would have been better saving up for air ride, at least then it would still be drivable

It is driveable, the bumpers are the last thing that would get damaged, i can still drive it just have to be careful with bumps, there's no point spending air ride money it would cost more than the car is worth... it's not pointless at all

EDIT: but you are entitled to your opinion so thanks for the comment lol Thumb Up

only have pics of my gloss black mirrors and sp fuel cap fitted and resprayed front bumper but will get good pics of the whole car tomorrow including door handles and side strips etc, the light was too low by the time i'd finished couldn't really get good enough pics to do it justice its looking so shiny!

Update

the 6 little discs that hold the rear windows in were a faded grey/blue colour and a few people had pointed it out so i decided to take them off and paint them gloss black...

while the windows were out i cleaned and polished out behind them where the paint was in bad condition... cleaned up well though Thumb Up ...

now putting them back was supposed to be the easy part but i forgot to put the rubber washers behind the metal pin things and screwed them in too tight so managed to shatter one of the windows Evil or Very Mad so had to drive round with a bin-bag window for a day Laughing ...

managed to get a new window and get it tinted the next day though and got them put back in with the gloss black pins and i reckon they look much better...

pleased with it, looks smart i think, bit of advice to anyone though... this is easy to do but when putting them back in make sure the rubber washers are in and DO NOT do them up too tight Rolling Eyes

Yeah a few plans - change of wheels or refurb wheels, 307 splitter to fit, heko deflectors to fit, might do something with the badge, maybe black spoiler, electric window conversion, flat wipers and HIDs... plus other little bits that need sorting but nothing big or obvious Smile

Update

Fitted my 307 splitter and Heko wind deflectors over the past 2 days...

Deflectors were very easy to fit took 10 mintues (i put some extra double sided tape on)...

For the splitter I took the whole front end apart to get the bumper off, then bolted the splitter on because it's probably gonna catch so wanted it to be secure...

Anyway pics:

I have to ask... the 307 splitter fits without any mod to it or to the bumper?? I mean... the lenght and the curve of the splitter fits perfectly the 206 bumper??

thanks mate... the 307 splitter comes in two halves, the curve and shape fits to the bumper but its too long so you have to cut about 6 inches off each half where they meet in the middle, very easy to do though!

Update

trial fitted the wheels today, good news is i don't need to raise the back, bad news is i need to space out the fronts slightly as they foul the coilovers

they don't sit right at all now, the tyres need to be changed for something with a lot of the stretch, and the rears need spacing out 10/15mm

so for now, i can't run them Sad but will get the stance right and they will look ace!

sorry for the crap pictures, was on my bb

Hmm like the black and white style, but the wheels look a bit weird on a 206 i think. Did you use spacers or is the width original?

5mm on front with half inch stretch would
Look ace and 10-15mm rear for stance ! Go
On tyre stretch .co.uk for ideas on amount of stretch your after ( unless you know off lol )

I would spray them pink ! With White caps

What He Said

And flat centre caps. The dish isn't that big but the flat centres make it seem so much bigger. I just need to get my arches rolled and then I can lower the back a little bit more and I'll be happy with mine. Yours will be sitting the same as mine just about ET5 all round

Having your arches rolled doesn't change the look at all. It's just folding the bit of the wing that pokes inward (parallel to the ground) back onto the inner wing to stop it rubbing and will give about 10mm more clearance hopefully Smile

The wheels fitted as they are in the pics above look like an MOT failure to me?

Surely if they are spaced out even further they will deffo fail?

Feel free to correct me if im wrong though Razz ?

if you read what i wrote above, the tyres will be stretched quite a lot, allowing the rims to sit flush with the arch (on the front) and poking out slightly (on the back) and the tyre TREADS to be inside the arches... = stance (and legal) Smile

those tyres in the pictures have gone, i'll be getting new ones

Update

well kind of...

got the tyres off and trial fitted the wheels to see where i want them to sit

rears are flush so i'll get some 10mm spacers for a bit of poke, car will have to be raised slightly on the back, will go for a 165/45/16 stretch on these

fronts poke out 20mm at the moment but i'll be changing to sports wings so should sit flush when they are fitted

if not i can get 3mm shims to make sure they are perfectly flush with the arches, will go for a 195/40/16 on the front for a bit of stretch but not as much as the back

can't afford the tyres i want yet but progress is being made, custom flat centres are being made as we speak, so watch this space... Thumb Up

can't really go any wider, they are about 2mm from the inside of the arch, will space them out 10mm and they'll sit perfect

Like it mate. 8j is the most you can go with no arch flare. 7.5 with a 10pm spacer is where an 8 would sit.

whats the idea of epic stretch on the back but 195s on the front wont that look a bit odd? (although im not really into the whole tyre stretch thing in general tbh haha)

well, the huge stretch is ok on the back but not really that safe on the front, so if i can get the front flush with a little bit of stretch and the back poking out with lots of stretch it'll have great stance and be relatively safe! thats the plan...

edit: plus the lower profile on the 195s will still look quite stretched anyway, we'll see how it goes when i get my sports wings on, can work it out then!

Update ...ish

finally gave in and decided a sports front bumper was needed, so today picked up this lot; sports front bumper with fogs and 2 sports wings

will be a while until I can get all this stuff sprayed and i'm torn about what to do with the fogs, because i didn't realise i was getting them included in the deal, so was going to get them smoothed over but now i'm not sure whether to mask them to match my headlights or smooth them... what do we think?

What wheels you fitting those tyres to??? 165 are bl**dy narrow ... stretching them to fit very wide alloys is going to put stress on the walls they aren't designed for ... plus they may not stay on the rims ...

Check out carbibles.com ... 165/45R16 fit rims 4.5 to 6" wide ..

ok mate, but I know a bit more about all this than you seem to think, anyway...

UPDATE

here's the wheels: no they will NOT be staying this colour they are being painted again in BMW imola red as this colour is way too orangey for what i wanted Sad

Also got my custom made smooth centres made by my mate, these will be painted when the wheels are re-done...

Gonna be a bit of a stretch Laughing should be just about right though i'm pleased with how its looking so far!

cheers!

From Mytyres mate, £47 each if IIRC.

This thread is old and too long now, so I've made a fresh one:
