#290: Re: Ross' VW Lupo GTI - new headlight on, yay. Pics page 19 Author: Ross, Location: West MidlandsPosted: Sun Mar 20, 2011 3:38 pm ---- Oh and Uz, thanks, you saved me a bit of money, as I contacted another company about the headlight after what you said, and they could get it cheaper than VW, which obviously led to VW offering me a discount.
#291: Re: Ross' VW Lupo GTI - new headlight on, yay. Pics page 19 Author: Ross, Location: West MidlandsPosted: Sun Mar 20, 2011 4:09 pm ---- I did this ages ago and forgot about it...
It's supposed to look like a normal flat red, looks like more of a candy red on the pic. Looks quite cool though I think. Any thoughts?
#292: Re: Ross' VW Lupo GTI - new headlight on, yay. Pics page 19 Author: Teebag, Location: exhall, bedworth, coventryPosted: Sun Mar 20, 2011 5:18 pm ---- candy red looks awesome! i'd be thinking about including a little candy red detailing on the front aswell (vw badge maybe?)
#293: Re: Ross' VW Lupo GTI - new headlight on, yay. Pics page 19 Author: Southall, Location: Warwickshire, UKPosted: Sun Mar 20, 2011 5:23 pm ---- Looks sweet as a nut mate!
Love the candy red colour too, I wouldn't go ott with it though, just a few bit's like the PS.

#295: Re: Ross' VW Lupo GTI - new headlight on, yay. Pics page 19 Author: Ross, Location: West MidlandsPosted: Mon Mar 21, 2011 12:35 pm ---- I'm feeling the red, just unsure on normal red versus candy red, I think my only real concern is that I wanted the red to match the pinstripe grille, seatbelts, and doorcards, and strictly speaking candy red wont. On the other hand the candy red is a bit different, and I think they might look a little 'racier', as it reminds me of stuff like this:
And TBH I love that.
#296: Re: Ross' VW Lupo GTI - new headlight on, yay. Pics page 19 Author: Uz, Location: No Man's LandPosted: Mon Mar 21, 2011 1:24 pm ---- I dunno if it's just me or that picture but if I'm honest bud I'm not really feeling it
I think it's because I'm so used to seeing your car all stealthy with the black on black. I think something along the lines of what you have would suit the car down to a Tee. Maybe have a bit of carbon wrapping done as I reckon this would look pretty awesome and then have like red bolts and centres, maybe get some lamin-x for the front lights and the side repeaters.
I know it's not like me as I've loved this car since you've bought it but I think the red should be kept nice and subtle and down as a accent/detail colour.
#297: Re: Ross' VW Lupo GTI - new headlight on, yay. Pics page 19 Author: Ross, Location: West MidlandsPosted: Mon Mar 21, 2011 2:44 pm ---- I've always been a bit 50/50 on the red wheels idea, mainly because it looks so good on the black wheels, and I have thought about having them re-done in gloss black as opposed to the satin black they are now which I've never been overly keen on. I was worried it might look too gimmicky on red wheels, that said, any GTI I've seen with coloured wheels and mirrors to match I've always liked (granted, the wheels are usually BBS splits so a little different!). The bottom line is though, I need a change. I've always seen these wheels as a stop gap until I have the money for splits anyway, and that has just got that little bit closer now I've sorted the headlight.
It does look stealthy and understated on the black wheels, and part of me wants to move away from that and go a bit more 'in yer face', I wanna turn heads!
A few people on Club Lupo have wrapped bits in the carbon fibre wrap stuff, and whilst I don't mind it and think it looks pretty good, I'm not overly bothered about doing it myself and it's something I can imagine I wouldn't be able to get perfect either. Have thought about Lamin-x on the headlights but again I'm not that fussed, I'd probably end up with air bubbles etc and being bloody expensive xenons I'm more inclined to leave them alone lol. I've never really wanted to go all out stealth on the car anyway, it just happened that the wheels were black when I bought them, and like I say, shiny splits are the plan, and then the shiny dishes will tie in with the headlights and side repeaters more if you know what I mean.

BBS RS Splits, red spoked to match your grille, maybe mirrors too= sorted IMO.
