Any particular reason why Jamie??
#33: Re: Ross' VW Lupo GTI - Compomotive TH Mono's - page 2 Author: Jamie, Location: Ring y0Posted: Sat Mar 20, 2010 3:52 pm ---- ... like them
#34: Re: Ross' VW Lupo GTI - Compomotive TH Mono's - page 2 Author: Ross, Location: West MidlandsPosted: Sat Mar 20, 2010 3:55 pm ---- I like them too but I could do with the money from them lol, it's not like I have the money for the Mono's so I could do with making some money back, and from what I've been told I could get some good money for my Bathursts.
#35: Re: Ross' VW Lupo GTI - Compomotive TH Mono's - page 2 Author: Ross, Location: West MidlandsPosted: Sat Mar 20, 2010 4:04 pm ---- One bad thing about the Mono's is they've got Nankangs on... and the Yokohama S-Drives on the Bathursts are great tyres, but don't want the expense of swapping the tyres over. Hopefully the Nankangs wont be too bad...
Even thought of getting camber shims and killing the Nankangs quickly, in style , then replacing them with something decent, and also getting the wheels refurbed/powdercoated at the same time. Trouble is aswell the Nankangs are 185/45's which is a bit of an odd size I think, love the stretch though, looks spot on!
Gonna put some red rim tape on them too, should look good I think.
#36: Re: Ross' VW Lupo GTI - Compomotive TH Mono's - page 2 Author: Ross, Location: West MidlandsPosted: Sun Mar 21, 2010 4:35 pm ---- Gave them a clean today, not entirely sure I've shifted all the crap on them TBH, but they're better at least... something tells me they haven't been cleaned properly for some time.
They'll be fine for now though, I've got some refurb plans for them which involves powdercoating them a different colour. I have inadvertently copied another Lupo GTI by buying these wheels, the car they came off, actually . When mine's lowered and I've put the Mono's on it will look almost identical, which is partly why I want to have them refurbed to do something a bit different.
I feel slightly grieved to pay 50 quid to have the tyres re-mounted if they're taken off, hence why my plan is to get some use out of them first, then maybe get them refurbed and put some better rubber on at the same time, if indeed the Nankang's are rubbish.

#39: Re: Ross' VW Lupo GTI - Compomotive TH Mono's - page 2 Author: Ross, Location: West MidlandsPosted: Mon Mar 22, 2010 3:29 pm ---- Cool, I was gonna say I'd rock those pink RS/RM's, but on second thoughts I'd probably get ridiculed and called all sorts of names
Cheers for the kind words, with any luck there will be a massive update on Saturday as the wheels and coilovers will be going on at the same time, big transformation I guess! Just gotta hope the coilovers arrive at my house ok some time this week.

That's my friend's Donna's Lupo, they only just got it back on the road after a Royal Mail wagon dropped its prop shaft, which they ran over, cracking the sump
Ace little car, doesn't half shift too
#43: Re: Ross' VW Lupo GTI - Compomotive TH Mono's - page 2 Author: Ross, Location: West MidlandsPosted: Mon Mar 22, 2010 4:23 pm ---- Mikey, I think I know the Lupo you're talking about, he's a member on Club Lupo, I'm sure I saw it when I went to Trax, subs pounding away, looking slightly different back then.
Brian, cheers.... roll on Saturday!
Ape, now that's what you call unlucky! Is it tuned then?
