Sorry Dale, I've not been online for a while, haven't had time as I got offered a job out of the blue, driving a van, and the hours are a bit mental - 60 hours a week.

Glad to have a job though and some money rolling in again, which means things can start to happen with the Lupo. Itching to buy some coilovers now, could do with another week or two's wages ideally, but I'm tempted to just buy them now and pay it back when I get paid Rolling Eyes lol.

I hadn't really drove the thing properly since about the end of October last year as I couldn't afford the fuel, so last weekend I took it out for a proper B-road blast, managed to find some sweet roads.... it performed, reminded me how great it is again Very Happy Laughing

I suppose I could put a thread up on your forum lol, I haven't even got one up on Club Lupo yet! Razz

You know it makes sense. Good wheels come before food iirc

I'm trying to justify spending the money in my head Laughing

What I'm thinking so far is....

- They're RS's, and therefore they wont lose value should I want to sell them on, so they make financial sense!

- I could sell my standard, freshly refurbished GTI wheels to recoup a chunk of the money.

- I can get rid of those Audi wheels for a bit of extra money.

Made an enquiry about prices of a few different sets of coilovers, AP's, Weitec's, and KW's. The time is near. Very Happy

Leaning towards the Weitec's... they're made by KW, and KW V1's are pretty much renowned to be the best coilovers for the Lupo, giving excellent ride and handling. Everyone says the only difference between the Weitec's and the KW's is that the KW's have stainless steel shock bodies, Weitec's are galvanised, so the KW's will stay looking fresher for longer and wont deteriorate... but the question I'm asking myself is 'does it really matter?'. The KW's are £117 more, and once they're on you wont be able to see them really, and I don't imagine I'll be fiddling about with the ride height too much once it's set...

A guy on Club Lupo enquired at the DVLA about the number of Lupo GTI's currently registered, and got this back:

903 remaining, it doesn't include any that may be SORN though of course. Nobody probably cares but I thought it was interesting to know Laughing

I have asked the DVLA about 206 GT's, hoping I'll get something similar back with a figure for the amount currently registered!

Provisionally bought a set of second hand wheels, picking them up Saturday morning. Stretch/poke coming soon Cool . They're nothing new on a Lupo GTI, I guess you could say they're 'tried and tested', suit the Lupo perfectly and they're pretty much ideal in terms of size and offset, IMO.

They came up for sale and I couldn't really resist, as I reckon I could recoup most of the money they'll cost by selling my mint Bathurst's (standard wheels).
