#227: Re: Ross' VW Lupo GTI - now with rear camber. Pics page 15 Author: Ross, Location: West MidlandsPosted: Thu Aug 19, 2010 2:09 pm ---- Am I right in thinking you're from Stourport Ape? If so then yeah, not far really . 20v T would be nice, but not nice on the wallet, lol. Plus I don't think I've heard of a 100% reliable engine converted car, and that would just annoy me, especially as it's my daily drive. Midland VW are currently building a 20v T Lupo, with a bigger turbo etc, he said a staff member has a mk2 Golf running the same engine setup and it's well over 400bhp (think he said 460bhp). Insane
And sniper1.... thanks mate

I'll be happy if mine reaches near 300bhp this weekend when it gets mapped. They're solid engines (famous last words!). I know a chap with a 20v T who'll be pushing 500bhp almost in his mk2 rallye. Pretty sure he's been to midland vw but he's a customer, not staff. We'll have to cross paths when I'm home for longer than 4 days in a month.
#229: Re: Ross' VW Lupo GTI - now with rear camber. Pics page 15 Author: Ross, Location: West MidlandsPosted: Thu Aug 19, 2010 3:02 pm ---- Stourport can't be that bad really, I mean put it this way, I've been on a few days out to Stourport, but you wouldn't want to go for a day out in Tipton
300bhp sounds good, should be a bit of a weapon really! I had a play with a LCR recently, well.... he insisted that I showed him what mine could do as he'd 'never seen one go', so I obliged, needless to say he was all over my back bumper, quick cars, assumed his was standard. Maybe the guy with the mk2 you know is the same person and I've got my wires crossed about him being staff, there surely can't be too many mk2 owners round here running 20vT's, and at that sort of power! I'm sure Dave mentioned a little Midlands meet once but nothing came of it, but would be good

I've never really been a fan of tinted lights, find them a bit chavvy! I did think about a set of 'Cambridge' rear lights which came on the SE models but I'm not too bothered I don't think, quite like my red ones.
Cambridge lights:

Not sure mate, STILL need to sort my headlight out, and every now and again it leaks a bit of oil from somewhere, so need to get to the bottom of that. Booking a holiday soon aswell so money's gonna be a bit tight for a bit!
There's quite a few things I'd still like to do though...
- Front end respray
- Golf Anniversary style GTI badges
- Stubby drivers mirror
- New seats (quite jealous of all the mk5 Golf GTI interiors being fitted into Lupo's lately, lol)
- Wheel refurb (still contemplating red!), or I'd still love some dished splits in my life to really set it off

Fair comment, I do quite like the all red look though, but I do like the Cambridge lights aswell, I think they're about 80 quid though and as I'm not too bothered I'd rather spend the money elsewhere. Might change them one day if I fancy a bit of a change!
