I have got more plans, there's always more to do ...
- Possibly a refurb of the current wheels including a colour change maybe.
- Split rims, have always intended on getting some, wouldn't want to run them in winter though.
- Front end respray, ie, bonnet, wings, bumper. 63,000 miles worth of stone chips is not nice, and they really stand out on a black car.
- Cat-back exhaust, most likely with similar tail pipes to the standard ones as I like how they look.
They're the main things I think, there's undoubtedly other little bits though.
#257: Re: Ross' VW Lupo GTI - bigger spacers fitted. Pics page 16 Author: Ross, Location: West MidlandsPosted: Sun Nov 07, 2010 1:39 pm ---- And now for the update!
I kind of ended up buying an interior, I never really planned on it but I found some OEM leather on eBay, bids were low so I thought I'd bump up the bids a little, on the very remote chance I'd reach the reserve. I bid up to £280, the Buy It Now was £450, and the reserve hadn't been met. The auction ended with no more bids, and I got a message from the seller saying he was willing to let the seats go for £300, and that was too good to turn down! Not very long ago I'd seen the same interior up for £600 ono, although this one included doorcards too, so I think I got a good deal.
It's a 9 year old leather interior, so there is some cracking to the drivers seat and a little sagging as you might expect, but all in all I'm really pleased with it! The other big positive for me is that it's a pretty rare interior, bear in mind there were just under 1000 GTI's in the UK to begin with, and leather was an expensive option so not many people chose to have it (I have read it was around £1300 from new). So it's cool to have it, aswell as making the car that little bit more desirable to potential buyers whenever I come to sell up. I should also add that the front seats are heated, or would be if they were connected up, this seems complicated though as the wiring isn't there in the car.

#260: Re: Ross' VW Lupo GTI - OEM leather interior. Pics page 18 Author: Ross, Location: West MidlandsPosted: Sun Nov 07, 2010 1:59 pm ---- Cheers guys. Was also worried that the red doorcards would look odd (the interior would normally include matching leather doorcards), but I don't think they look out of place really seeing as the seat belts are red.
You might notice how worn my steering wheel looks on the pic aswell (it should look like shiny leather), maybe I should add a new wheel to my 'to do' list

Cheers Ben. I appreciate Lupo's are a bit of an acquired taste, most people probably think they're just a bland looking Euro-box. Personally though I see them as a car that has big potential modding wise, you can make one look cool for very little money, that's the beauty of them. And the GTI's are little go-karts, fun to drive and pretty exclusive .
