Hi guys,

My first post, I've had my 04 plate 206 1.4 fever for a good few months now and I have no idea if it is alarmed and/or has an immomiliser, any ideas?

If it is alarmed how can I check to see if it works?

Cheers

lock the car with the remote then open the door using the key.If it sounds its got an alarm. Then with the alarm going off put the key in the ignition and turn it.If the alarm stops it has an immobiliser.

It has a Thatcham Cat 2 transponder key immobiliser fitted as standard.

If you don't have a button behind the handbrake that looks like a radar then you don't have one.

I do have that button Lee. It looks like a wifi button. Thats the internal sensor button, I think, that you push if you want to alarm the car but leave a pet or person in it. Not 100% sure though. Any ideas why my alarm doesnt sound Lee? I tried the above method but no alarm went off when I opened the door using only the key.

XSI has a factory fitted ultrasonic alarm with deadlocks.

Lock the car with the remote ( press the lock button ONCE only! )

Wait 45 seconds then unlock the door via the key barrel, open the door & the alarm should sound.

Your car is multiplexed plus has deadlocks & depending on the BSI software version your car is actually running the alarm system could be armed in either of the following ways.

Early BSI software versions:

Alarm is only armed on FIRST lock button press on remote fob which also sets the deadlocks on your XSI!

Pressing the lock button a 2nd time actually removes the deadlocks leaving the car just normally locked & also disarms the alarm system.

Later BSI software versions for 206's with deadlocks:

Alarm will arm on first ( deadlocking ) or second ( normal locking ) press of lock button on remote fob.

Try again & report back.

Hey guys sorry about the late reply. Tried the above and no alarm went off :-(. Any ideas?? The red LED on the center console does flash once I've locked the car and it is a XSI model so I know it has got an alarm. Does This sound like a fuse problem?

Alarm might have been turned off in the BSI configuration setup.
