Calm down, explain properly lol thats well rushed in your worrying state..

Do you mean, the plastic protective cover that covers the keyhole has snapped off and gone inside the key slot, now because thats in there the key wont fit?

The petrol should last around another 30 miles from when the light comes on. Or thats what the manual says. Mines lasts a while on the petrol light and thats from experience lol (mine comes on every other day)

Can you not stick something in the lock and try get the plastic bit out?

30 miles is dependant on how you drive, if your in stop start traffic it wont last no where near that long =[ but it does last a wee while Thumb Up

try and get home and use a bobby pin to try and get it out or even a vacuum cleaner to try and suck it out?

tbh I'd say the same, just get a few paperclips and make some form of a grab tool and pull the plastic bit out, failing that a sharp object - long saftey pin? and stab the plastic bit inside and pull it out.. Just try not to wedge it in even more o.O

And when you get it off bin it and get a propper fuel cap Thumb Up

If all else fails use a screwdriver, the lock is made mainly of plastic.
Then you can replace it with an original one.

If it's gone in - it will come out, somehow Smile

there's always a way, just think logically and you'll sort it somehow, best thing to do is not worry about the how's and just try anything you can think of until it's sorted Thumb Up

Aslong as you get it off it's all good, doesnt matter if it's fudged when it comes off, just replace it Razz

If all else fails wack a screwdriver into the lock and twist it until it pops open Wink but do that as a last resort lol.. Basically go all 'I want to steal this yo' on it lol or drill the lock out?

Not that I'm aware of mate, I've never looked around there though Sad I think it's a sealed unit kinda thing with it been the petrol area..

If there was I recon it'd be more work than it's worth - if you get a lock guy out to it all he'd do is drill it out I recon.

EDIT: Thanks Chris Thumb Up didnt think there would be, as a 'anti-theft' kinda thing you'd expect them to be under the cap tbh
