Hey, Ive got an engine oil leak I've had for a while now and it's costing me a fortune in oil. I just don't have the cash to have anyone have a look at it and haven't seen where it's coming from myself.
I've been told, as a temp fix that K-seal will do the job. Anyone got opinions on it and whether it will get me through the winter period until I've got some cash to get it look at? Also how's it work?

Cheers

yup tell us where. you might just need a new rocker seal or sump plug. that will only set you back a few pounds Very Happy

NOOOO any of that crap is a temp bodge that can block up the oil/water ways depending on where you use it!!

if its leaking fix it properly you may save the cost and hassle temporarily but it will only be worse later on

how bad is it leaking i find all 8v tu engines iv ever worked on have leaking oil slightly running down over the air con compressor :S

im not sure where it is, but its definitely not the rocker cover gasket as i fixed that for the last MOT in april. otherwise im not sure but its coming out pretty rapidly. gone through a gallon bottle in 3-4 months....just have to keep on top of it.

problem is taking it to a garage is gonna hit me for cash i physically dont have....i know its a cost of runnin a car but would i be better off just keep topping up the oil until i can afford to a) get it look at anad b)lose my car for the time it will take to fix it (no buses run to work)

jack up the car and take a pic, clean off the old oil drip and trace the oil leak.

i used similar brand when my old turbo and sump were leaking, sorted both, ran it for 3months like it till i could afford the new parts, then changed oil at same time.

still running fine 1 year on. ** touch wood**

yeah too many places that wont think twice about selling you stuff that

a) doesnt work
or
b) harms the car

so is it just a case of dropping it into the oil filler hole? then flushing it and changing it when its done?
