Ok frist thing, i used to be on here with 1000s of posts but long story cut short, my old 206 rolled and blur blur blur ive now got a 2002 2.0 HDi which i love to bits BUT

Its got the lil button on the right stort and one push up "auto wippers" display and start to work.... there also a little "auto" button on the left stort... but i push it, turn the lights on and off ect but nothing happens, nothing is displayed.

So what does that little "auto' button on the left stork do???

Oh and one lil thing this may sound really dumb... but its got sports bumbers, phase 1 rear lights and boot strip, and phase 2 front lights and GTi alloys and SP archs+spoiler.

What model is it? lol

Thanks peeps Smile

is the button on the very end of the stork? if it is im sure its the auto lights function and to use it iirc you have to turn your ignition on but not start the engine then press and hold the button for a few seconds and your lights will then auto come on when its dark Smile

unsure of the model of your car though, could be the fact that someone has put these parts on to make the car look better? idk....

Thanks for your reply mate, ill defo try that in the morning Very Happy

I really thought it had that MPG read out as its a big screen but i guess not Sad

I dont think the cars been modified, the previous owners dont look like the type to do anything, and it all looks factory done.

i do have that button.... but it doesn't do anything when i push it :S.... is it because i have a different head unit installed?

Alsooo ... under the front passenger seat there are 2 wires... 1 is a phono(red) and the other looks like the old windows mouse connector... is this for a CD changer?

a different head unit should not affect you being able to scroll through your mpg and other things, i know as i have an aftermarket HU and mine works fine Smile

cant say i know what your wires under the passenger seat are for? i dont think its for a CD changer theough but i could be wrong. CD changers are usually in the boot or glove box on the 206 afaik

could be from the previous owners installing something then removing it.

Hey, the trim level should be in the V5 doc, but some of the stuff does sound like it's been added mine and my mates are both 2.0l HDi, 02 plate and have exactly the same trim. Phase one everything and nothing sp at all.

As for the stalk the button on the very end, as said above this should let you cycle through your mpg etc.

perhaps they had an amp or something under the seat?

They have been added by a previous owner.

CD changer on this year of 206 was in the boot on the left hand side.

as above

hold the button on the left stalk and you should hear a "bong" noise confirming that auto lights has been activated / deactivated
the left button is also used for satnav functions on some models if fitted

how did you end up putting the window through? be gentle with it this time then Smile also find the how to gives you really good guide on how to do it, also make sure you have a good drill to get the rivets out and some sheets to cover your paint.

heres a link clicky

Are you sure the button on the right hand stalk is a button and not just a blanking plug that looks like a button, does it actually feel like it operates like the one on the left stalk? My 1.4 Hdi had what looked like a button but was a blank, I first cancelled the auto lights as I didn't want it and swapped the stalk ends over and now have the display functions on the right stalk. Obviously I have lost the functions on the left stalk but will probably get hold of another button from a scrapper some time in the future.
