#3: Re: Car steering. Author: StuBannerman, Location: AberdeenPosted: Tue Dec 21, 2010 2:45 am ---- How much you think this will cost to fix.
I have spent over 400-500 on car recently from a crankpulley to the heating

#5: Re: Car steering. Author: StuBannerman, Location: AberdeenPosted: Tue Dec 21, 2010 2:58 am ---- so whats the maximum you may think.
Am tempted to get rid of it if i did not need it. Too many probelms.
Where be best place to take it to be looked at
#6: Re: Car steering. Author: NorthantsBen, Location: Raunds, NorthamptonshirePosted: Tue Dec 21, 2010 3:02 am ---- Wishbone and/or track rod end I would say.
Wishbones last time I got a pair for £60, and trackrods £15 a pair.
probably £60-£100 laybour I'm unsure tho as never use garage.
Also check to see the wheel is not bent
#7: Re: Car steering. Author: StuBannerman, Location: AberdeenPosted: Tue Dec 21, 2010 3:16 am ---- How can you tell if wheel is bent?

Not sure if you're being serious Stu?.............jack up the car and spin it!!

If you're lucky you may just have knocked the tracking out, if not they'll be able to give you a clue how bad it is. Some places will check wheel alignment for free (though adjustment costs). I'd not expect too much to be bent, as people said probably just a wishbone arm. I didn't bend more than than when years ago I put a 2-inch dent in the rim of my Metro's wheel.

Well I'd say the baby and its mother constitute two reasons you can't afford NOT to fix this. Taking chances with just yourself is one thing, with other people...

I had a quote for a wish bone last week for £120 inc fitting.
