#1: Timon2210 Project -Pride & Joy Author: Timon2210, Location: PalestinePosted: Sat Dec 25, 2010 1:06 pm ---- Hi All,
Well I thought of making a project thread to my car since it's holidays, and I got some free time,so my car is 1.4L-8V-2006,I bought it in Jan-2008,it's an imported one (used),and here is some pics of it the day i got it.
Then I tinred the rear windshield in dark blue tint,to give it a nicer look from the back, and also I added the GTi spoiler on the boot :),to look more sporty.
a few weeks later,i thought that it's the new wheels time now,so i started to look for set of 15",and I found this set, made in Italy, brand name is (Simi),here is pics of it:
And here some pics of it after fixing it to the car :D,with tires 195/55/15 Kumho.
Then,I changed her OEM tape headunit with CD one:
and after having the CD headunit, the quality of the sound were not good,so i checked the speakers, they were fine, and I checked the tweeters, but they were not working,so i thought of replacing it with and after market ones, and that what I did,see here:
then the sound became a very loud and nice one,and I enjoy the ride more now
Here is some recent pics of it:
There is more mods to come,I will keep you posted, and I'm not gonna say what the mods are,and keep it a surprise...LOL,feel free to comment and share your ideas to make my Bride and Joy nicer Last edited by Timon2210 on Wed Mar 30, 2011 12:35 pm; edited 1 time in total

#10: Re: Timon2210 Project -Pride & Joy Author: Timon2210, Location: PalestinePosted: Sun Apr 10, 2011 12:35 pm ---- On the 20/3/2011,I gave my car to my Aunt,so that I take her car for garage to have it serviced, and on that day,she called me at 7:30 AM,while she was heading to her work, and told me she had a car acciedent with another driver while she was stopped at a junction,so I went to see her,and check she was ok,and Thank God she was,and the other driver was too,the other driver were driving a Vauxhall Vectra 1992,and she was driving fast, which made her car swing from the back,so while she was passin by my car,she hitted it with her car rear left door ,and that hitted my car right wing, and bumper and headlight(our cars is LHD for who don't know that),and here is some pics of it after the accident.
So the search for the replacement parts started, because it's not easy to get parts in here,so after days of searching,I found this used front bumper, and wing that match my car color, but both in a bad shape and need painting,so I sent them to the bodyshop to get them done
This is all the pics I uploaded for today, the rest of fixing process will be tomorrow :),and few more pics for the final result with mods

Thank you for your comment my friend :),and you have no idea how much i was gutted that day,and i was not happy till I saw it fixed :D,glad that nothing happen to my Aunt :),and the other woman as well.
The damage look not bad,but inside it was a bit of damage to the wing fixing holder, but the bodyshop fixed it without paint,so that don't effect the selling in the future when it got checked.
I will post more pics today for the fixing process, the one been made by the bodyshop, and the one made by Me and my brother :),so keep checking :D,but you will be surprised how much this costed me

#15: Re: Timon2210 Project -Pride & Joy**More Pics added** Author: Timon2210, Location: PalestinePosted: Mon Apr 11, 2011 1:13 am ---- I uploaded more pics today, for the fixing process at the bodyshop,I gave them the wing and bumper to have it spraied before I go to fit them,I don't like to keep my car at the bodyshop, and also I like to monitor the job while it's been done :D,so here is some pics while it been fixed:
Took the right headlight out
You can see the damage of the wing fixing point in here
The wing is off now,and as you can see the hidden damage under it,the Fuel evaboration tank is broken,so had to replace it
after few hours of working on it,they got it done, and I took it back home with the right headlight fixed with one bolt because the other 2 bases are broken :(,so this how it looked when I got it home
This all for now,I will add more pics later today, with the rest of fixing done by Me and my Brother :)..so keep checking the pics

#20: Re: Timon2210 Project -Pride & Joy Author: Timon2210, Location: PalestinePosted: Tue Apr 19, 2011 1:05 am ---- On **4-4-2011**I continued the work on my car after getting it back from the bodyshop,so I fixed the fogs on,got the plugs down,it was a fun job to do :),because I wanted fogs for a long time, and I was excited to turn them on,which ended in a dispoitment
and here pics with them fitted, but headlight off, which make the car look very aggressive, and devilish
The fogs didn't work, after pluging them, activated them with PP2000,and put the 15m Fuse in F6 in the fuse box in the engine bay,but I continued the work on the car with dispoitment :(,so since the wheel arches were off for the repair,I got the washer jet,and gave the wheel arch a very good wash to have this result
While it was in the bodyshop, they polished it,and waxed it to have this result (car still dirty and not been washed yet )
After that got the wheel arches back on,and took off the steelies, and the alloy wheels back :D,I will continue the thread as soon I get more pics uploaded on photobucket
#21: Re: Timon2210 Project -Pride & Joy Author: Timon2210, Location: PalestinePosted: Thu Apr 21, 2011 5:49 am ---- 21-4-2011-I Uploaded more pics today, you will see it in the final look :D,enjoy it.
here I took the clips off,so that I can refit the door strips back on,few of them were broken in the process so I replaced 4 of them and used the others :D,that is a good result for thin plastic..hehe
Then after fitting the clips back to the side strips,I put them back on the doors to have this result :D,and door handels been made color coded as well
Now we moved to the important part of the car which is the front end :D,to fix the headlights, and the grill,so here we fixed the right headlight on
and fitted the left one :
and here is a pic of both of them fitted
now the grill is ready to be fitted, and also the bumper strips and the plate number, and the result was very nice with the black badge I made
moved to the rear end to fit the bumper strip:
Now car is done, but it's dirty,so I gave it a nice shiny wash
So I dried it,and cleaned it from inside too ,here some pics with it's final look with all the mods on
Some pics with sunset :D,to see how it's shine
After few days I thought of adding a red line to the badge,it look very sport and sexy
These are my mods so far,got few plans for the near future,I will let you know as soon as I get them done

#56: Re: Timon2210 Project -Pride & Joy Author: Timon2210, Location: PalestinePosted: Tue May 13, 2014 3:33 pm ---- Well I have not updated this in a while,so last week I got new sensors fitted,as I had a problem with the temp. gauge, and the MAP,and the TPS,so bought all of them, and got them from the UK,and car drives much better now,I have cleaned the throttle body again, had engine coolant flush, and here is some pics of the process.
3 Sensors still in package
The Old and new TPS sensor:
The old and new MAP
some pics for the fitting process
I also found that I have a crack in the car manifold,in the 4 cylinder side,so got a used one,but in excellent condition, with it's CAT,and upper and lower oxygen sensors,as mine only had an upper one,so after fitting it,car drives much better, very quite, not rough anymore.
and when I done the coolant flush,I took the coolant expansion tank, and gave it a very good clean,so I can see where the coolant is,as it was so dark, and so brown, but now it look like this
But maybe you noticed that I got a crack in the cap,so a new one will be fitted this week.
That is for now,got few plans for it this summer, will keep you posted guys :D,thanx for looking

lovely car and I love the bonnet vent, your car looks much better with the moulding and door handles painted thats the 1st thing I did, where did you buy your bonnet vent?
Thank you for the comment my friend :),I know that having a color coded all around is much better than having it in black :).
I love the bonnet vent too,it's a replica for Ecosse bonnet vent,I was looking for it for a while, and one day a member in here had it for sale, and I bought it right away :D,so I was lucky ;).
