Horn wires most likely come from the BM34 unit under the bonnet ( the under bonnet fuse box )

Its such hard work to unclip the grill & unplug the horn to test the wire's Rolling Eyes

Fiddling with the BM34 unit isn't a good idea unless you know what your doing Wink

You can get at the horn connector plug with the grill removed.

there we are mate get a multi metre on the plug and get some one to hit the horn, if there is power the horn is most prop f**ked but try htting it a screwdriver or some thing while some one is pressing the horn and it might start working again.

Yeah been looking at it. Not much room in the garage at moment but least was dry. Can see horn and connector through the grill. Suspect that is best way to get to it as there is numorous coolent and ac pipes behind and couldn't squeeze hand in and work on horn in tight space.

Looked like the grill unclipped from bumper but wasn't certain if possible to remove with bumper still on car. By sounds of it, it is so will try that another day.

PS connector didn't look dirty corroded from what i could see. But until i disconnect and test i cant fully appreciate the state of them.

Top part of the black plastic grill unclips.

4 mushroom clips along the top, pull the middle bit up to release the clip then pull the outer bit up. then 6 moulded clips along the bottom of the grill, lift up & wriggle it free past the bonnet release catch.

The colour keyed part of the grill has 3 torx screws securing it ( you will see these once the top grill is removed )

Middle torx screw behind badge only needs undoing a little bit as the grill has a slot here, the other 2 screws need removing.

2 plastic clips in each corner under headlight, pull HARD & they will release.

Good idea to visit local Peugeot / Citroen main dealer & get 4 new clips before you start, there only a few pence each & they are likely to break if you haven't got spares to hand.

UPDATE

Finally managed to just get to the horn, unplugged it and getting 12v at connector so looks like needs a new horn.

Couldn't manage to get old horn out. Think i'll have to remove bumper for access.

Where's best place to get a replacement horn? Car currenlty not in use so can wait for something ordered online to be delivered.

Found some at GSF car parts. £6.50 general horn or £11+ for high or low tone horn.

Eurocar parts didn't list any online but found that before the search not brilliant.

Check the for sale section on forum, someone should be breaking a 206 in there, there's always at least one being broken for parts.

Take it the horn itself is same across all 206 of that year?

Just going to try a few breakers in area today and don't to be charge double by somebody saying it's for GTi when any will do.

I found a mechanic who was able to replace my horn which was faulty from behind the front bumber without moving the front bumper but it was tricky. I had another fault where the fuse kept blowing when unlocking the car but that was a known fault which required a CPU update to fix.
