#1: Overheating Author: Davrob7, Location: United KingdomPosted: Tue Dec 28, 2010 3:26 pm ---- My wife has a 2001 1.4 LX which she's had from new. Just spent a fortune on it, Airbags and Airbags ECU, wishbones, drop arms, discs etc. She also had an overheating problem which we thought had been solved with new resistors. It was the needle zooming to the red and the stop warning lamp coming on which quite a few others have noted on this site. The fan does not come on. New resistors got it working for a while but its gone again. She only uses it as a shopping trolley so we are reluctant to spend much more money on it (the other jobs cost £800) so I am thinking of wiring the fan so it is on all the time. Am I right in thinking I have to join the two wires that presently go into the sensor on the bottom of the radiator? Before the present problem the fan used to work all the time anyway for over a year with no problems....but does anybody know if this is a good idea or would having the fan on all the time cause other problems?

Are the relays behind the grill ok / not corroded in to a green powdery mess?
