Yes it will plug & play.

BUT

You will have NO immobiliser & your insurance company wont like that & may remove your theft cover from your policy.

Why dont you get your original one tested / repaired?

if it's an after market ECU,then it's time to change it for the original Peugeot one from Scrapy, and unlock it as Johnk said :),and your car will be fine again Smile

Use the VIN number to find the correct ecu part number.

Log in to Peugeot Service box & use your vin number to search for parts Wink

Or you can PM me the vin & ill have a look if you want.

basically it's a choice of 2

Has it got a lambda sensor on the exhaust manifold?

1929 QP if it doesn't

1939 AH if it has

Id still be tempted to send the original way to be tested first Wink

#22: Re: ECU? Author: grantjohn1979, Location: sutton surrey PostPosted: Fri Dec 31, 2010 9:09 am
    ----
lambda sensor is in the front down pipe which joins onto the manifold not the actual manifold itself so im presuming 1939ah?

#23: Re: ECU? Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ? PostPosted: Fri Dec 31, 2010 9:12 am

So you have a total of 2 lambda sensor's?

One before the cat & a second after the cat?

just the one on the front down pipe mate

Should be 1929 QP then

I would check that part number with a Peugeot main dealer though!

It's to do with the emission system and settings as to why they differ.

ECU

the problem i had was the car would start when it felt like it, found out the ecu was not telling the feul to go through when i was trying to start the car, found out the ECU was nackered after sending it of to be tested (www.the-ecu-doctor.co.uk) and needed to replace it, a friend of mine is an auto electrician and told me i'd need to replace it with the exact same ecu as a diferent one could not be coded in to my key, long story short i found an ecu kit on ebay (ecu, alarm module, ignition ring chip and circuit board from key) with the same part number as mine, cost me £100. Now the thing is i can swap the parts over myself but i cant find where the immobiliser/alarm module is in the car, anyone know???

ps. the photo u put on of your ecu, the numbers u need are underneath the ecu u will need to take it out and have a look! (there is another sticker on the bottom)

Are there any id numbers on the underside of the ecu?

#35: Re: ECU? Author: Lee, Location: England PostPosted: Sat Jan 01, 2011 10:20 am
    ----
They should be able to read it, it won't be a aftermarket one. When you plug it in to Peugeot Planet, the full details and spec of the ECU are listed.

Have you removed the ECU, to ensure there are no markings on the underside?

If you get some ground up pencil lead or some soft material like that, and sprinkle it across both sides of the ECU, it might bring some numbers out that weren't very visible before.

KFX engine code with one plug with 55 PINs is a Magneti Marelli 1 AP ECU
KFX engine code with one plug and 88 PINs is a Bosch Motronic MP7.3 ECU
KFW engine code has three plugs and uses a Sagem S 2000 ecu

the only thing i can say its a 55 pin plug type as i counted the pins two rows of 18 then the bottom row was 19 making it 55 pin type

#39: Re: ECU? Author: Lee, Location: England PostPosted: Tue Jan 04, 2011 9:44 am

Yeah thats right.

You'll need a ECU with matching BSI and transponder. As they are all coded together.

#40: Re: ECU? Author: grantjohn1979, Location: sutton surrey PostPosted: Tue Jan 04, 2011 9:47 am

so if its an unlocked one cant i just plug it in straight away or like you say do i still need to get the bsi and transponder for that unlocked ecu?

#41: Re: ECU? Author: Lee, Location: England PostPosted: Tue Jan 04, 2011 9:51 am
    ----
If you get an unlocked one, you should be able to recode it.

I thought you meant you were just getting one from like a scappy.

If you tell me your chassis number I'll get you the transponder code for free, if you don't know it.

just found out scouring the internet that the original ecu that was in my 206 was a magneti marelli IAW 1AP 81 if i get an unlocked/free running one i should by rights be able to swop it and start the car up straight away?
