#1: axle removal / axle bolts Author: harve90, Location: Holywood PostPosted: Sat Jan 08, 2011 8:47 am

Hi there and a happy new year to everyone. My problem is that i have my 1.9 d 206 up on axle stands and am trying to change the axle and i cant seem to locate the bolts securing the axle to the car. Every site i have visited tells me there are four 19 mil bolts two in the boot and two under the back seats, none found in my 2000 reg car. The underside of the axle mountings have starish shaped bolt heads if thats what they are. My question is do i undo these starish shaped bolts to remove the axle, if so can anyone tell me what these type of bolts are really called so as i can search for the correct tool. also any other advice would be welcome. Thanks. Confused

Yes 4 torx bolts hold the axle onto the car.

Yes the 4 star shape bolts are the ones you need to undo, you need a 13mm socket to open it
make sure to disconnect the brake lines and handbrake cables before fully opening the bolts
