Good thread Seb. Whose VX is that in the background with the spoiler on? Has he done the supercharger conversion already?
Heh, that's a slightly special one, it was originally a standard turbo, it's now got the Astra VXR engine in it, and insane internals and boost at around 30 PSI I think. Running about 305bhp and does 0-100 mile in like 8.4 seconds.

Saw one of these the other day, sounded great
Nah it's not matey, not been round there for about a year now. I think I might know who you're seeing though. Black wheels as well? Or standard ones?
#17: Re: Seb's VX Thread Author: MEGA, Location: Harrow, LondonPosted: Wed Feb 24, 2010 3:48 am ---- Seb is from Northampton. Incest capital of the world. Well, except for Norfolk.
( To anyone I have not yet offended with this post: Boo! )
Ahaha.

Standard I think, fairly loud sporty sounding exhaust. In the Boscombe area.

Only joking dude, you know I like your car despite not having seen it in the metal/plastic yet...

Slight special?! 100 miles in 8.4 seconds! Like a rocket!
But seriously, what a beast. Have you aspirations to get to those standards with your VX? What performance/cost are you looking at for all the things your planning on doing to it?
Sorry for the intrusiveness, but your thread appeals to me! I want to know more!

A normal stage 2.5 supercharged VX hits around 260bhp with a 0-60 of around 3.8 seconds from experience.
Supercharging to that level isn't cheap, but it's not overly expensive either.
Around £1k for the S/C, manifold, gaskets, throttle body.
£1400 for a full exhaust system (though I got a 4000mile one from a friend for £700)
Around £1500 more for odds and ends from then on.
In all, on a tight budget it can be done for about £2k if you are patient and look around.
It'll probably have cost me in the region of £3.5k in the end including the new wheels.

Guess again
Dude, I'm hopefully coming to FCS this year I expect track time if I don't see it before...
#25: Re: Seb's VX Thread Author: Seb, Location: Under your bedPosted: Thu Feb 25, 2010 8:09 am ---- Nice! So you got off work then yeah?
Most probably won't be venturing out of my house/work until FCS anyway hehe.

Shiny!
#27: Re: Seb's VX Thread Author: Wiliam_morgan, Location: South WalesPosted: Thu Feb 25, 2010 3:14 pm ---- when putting rubber around your new wheels please go for a lower profile as that other VXR has a sleak line then some massive tractor wheels on it! go lower profile please otherwise i feal u may ruin your car!
#28: Re: Seb's VX Thread Author: Seb, Location: Under your bedPosted: Thu Feb 25, 2010 3:19 pm ---- Ah but handling > looks for me. And to not ruin the handling the fronts need to be slightly thicker profile.
However that guy's wasn't lowered. Mine has some Eibach track springs hanging around somewhere that will fill in the gap above the front wheels.
#29: Re: Seb's VX Thread Author: Wiliam_morgan, Location: South WalesPosted: Thu Feb 25, 2010 3:21 pm ---- oh is that right? didnt know needed to be thicker, ill take your word on it as u have an idea of what your doing! i love the VXR not a far of that guys tho somethink isnt right.... hurmmm
#30: Re: Seb's VX Thread Author: Ruffy_206, Location: BristolPosted: Thu Feb 25, 2010 4:09 pm ---- them wheels are nice make it look more of a track car imo. and thats pretty cool 2 16 and 2 17.
