Engine swap

Got a ph1 gti which is on 80235 miles and am thinking of putting a 180 engine with low milage in it if I had the money as I would be waiting ages to be to afford a proper 180. Is this going to be a an easy job or would it be that much pain of an ass that I should definitely wait regardless of how long for the 180 car?

I'd go with waiting for a tidy actual 180. The whole car will be a few years newer / low mileage then too.

You need the following parts for a start:
Engine (with mounts)
Gearbox
ECU
Key & Ignition
Engine Loom
Interior Loom
Subframe (with steering rack & everything still attached)
All ancillaries

Then for fitting Ecosse charge £1000 to fit all the above stuff Wink

Not an easy job Laughing
