#1: major misfiring Author: BuRnSy206, Location: Falkirk, ScotlandPosted: Mon Jan 17, 2011 1:27 pm ---- went through a massive deep puddle today, basically a river in the road, it was as high as the door sills, anyway on the way home the car started to lose power and started to sound more like a harley davidson exhaust.
have checked my spark plugs and one of them was soaking wet (water) not sure how it got in there. checked the oil, there's no water in it that i can see, going to get a cylinder pressure test tomorrow, any ieas as to what it could be?

#5: Re: major misfiring Author: BuRnSy206, Location: Falkirk, ScotlandPosted: Mon Jan 17, 2011 1:38 pm ---- the exhausts fine, its a weird one though because immediately when i start the car, it runs smooth as ever but after like 30 seconds it runs like a bag of s***. not really sure what to check for with the injectorsto be honest, just that they are not chocked? plus ive dried the plug and swapped the all around but still runs the same. whats a wet 'dizzy' sorry ...bit of a newbie to this.
#6: Re: major misfiring Author: troy, Location: llanelliPosted: Mon Jan 17, 2011 1:40 pm ---- what id say is to make sure all the connectors are dry, blow them out if neccesary. id then try a new set of plugs and check the compresion because if water has gone into the engine the chances are something is bent in there, be it a valve or a conrod.

first thing i'd have checked after driving through puddle caused the problem.
